Comments (23)Weebus "reference link for proper credit" Botrytis blight or gray mold is a fungus disease which infects a wide array of herbaceous annual and perennial plants. There are several species of the fungus Botrytis which can cause blights; the most common is Botrytis cinerea. Botrytis infections are favored by cool, rainy spring and summer weather usually around 15C (60F). Gray mold can be particularly damaging when rainy, drizzly weather continues over several days. Although IÂm sure you have this memorized but these conditions above do not exist in the houses. We use Netefim auto-drip system to control watering. The surface stays dry and so does the foliage. But I'm sure your aware of that. The greenhouse company in your example didn't design the system. Quote "mainly because the larger ones I had ordered wouldn't fit without cutting into the greenhouse frame." Cactus ordered the fans not the company. You know as well as I do airflow is a simple calculation of g/h cubic feet to the amount of airflow required. Big or small fans. Doesn't matter as long as the proper airflow is achieved. Sorry to many wholes in your argument. And IÂll trust a g/h engineer any day. Hey you never did comment on most grow on temps are between 55 and 70? Chris, What's the lowest temp you ever recorder? What about days when you have overcast skies for days on end. I can't see the temp hitting 90 in those conditions. Maybe 70 but does that store enough heat? What's the percentage of floor space is used for storing water compared to plant space? Just curious. Here is a link that might be useful: Botrytis...See MoreAC quote in NE Florida
Comments (8)mike_home: I did email Company D earlier and here is his response: "I can assure you that the 5 ton is correct. A 3.5 ton could do it based on today's building efficiency standards, but your home was built 14 years ago. Those standards were based around 500 Sq ft of living space per ton. The 5 ton will cool and dehumidify your house very efficiently once it is installed properly. A 3.5 ton would not even fill your existing ducts properly to provide adequate air flow." tigerdunes: Since purchasing our home, we have never had consistent temps in all rooms. Some rooms were much warmer than others, especially our upstairs bonus room which was my oldest daughter's room and is now a game room. The temperature difference ranged anywhere between 8-15 degrees higher. We changed to the Honeywell zoning at the guidance of our old AC guy, who is now out of business. I honestly can't say there was any difference in performance probably because we have been air conditioning the attic due to the ductwork (based on Company D's inspection)....See Morewhat system is best in south Florida?
Comments (30)I have about 3 dealers around the same price. They vary in different ways. 2 dealers include the Trane rebate, 1 is not in the rebate program yet as he is new. He said that he is reducing his price to compensate for it until he gets into the program-he is one I quoted the prices from. On my most recent email to him very late last night, I asked him, "I heard you about the Trane rebate program but let me know if it goes through, wouldn't it save you money as well?" I haven't received a reply yet. Was the prices mentioned good? Concerning the tax credit, One company has it in its estimate but I am keeping it separate. I want to compare apples to apples. The other two don't put it in their estimate because it is up to me to follow through on it. Interestingly, the "A" rated company from the BBB is the one that includes it in the estimate, The "B-" and the new company don't. All the companies (about 7-10) said that they clean out the lines. Only one, the "B-" company replaces them. I wished the average temps were true. One thing about this area is the humidity. It is dripping. Again, Thank you for your help. I really appreciate it....See MoreHelp with correct thermostat setting
Comments (23)In certain areas I can, it's a solid concrete foundation but I've never seen wet spots. The concrete is exposed in the HVAC room and that's always dry. Times I've had to remove small patches of drywall I've never seen any moisture either. The entire basement has a French drain system that leads to the sump, but as I said earlier I've never heard or witnessed it running since we've lived here. As far as the grounds, most of the water leads to each fence then runs down the center between the houses and into the street. The side yards are always soaked because of this but not along the foundation. I'll see if the humidifier makes a difference. I can always return it if it doesn't. Would it be worth looking into a supplemental whole-house dehumidifier that attaches to the unit? Is that even a thing?...See More- 10 years ago
