I'm heading off to bed now. Don't know why I am still up since I was tired when I got off work....well, I DO know....the computer and computer games. Then I decided to print off a return label for shoes I ordered that are too big. Then I decided to order new ones and another pair...messed up on the return/reorder thing and called their 24 hour phone number to straighten things out. Found out that's what I was supposed to do in the first place, can't just do a reorder on line.

So, now I'm going to bed. Hope you all have a good day today. Been working the last couple days. Work is getting better, less patients, and we're able to spend more time with the ones we have. I feel like I'm giving good care for once.

Been snowing here, about four inches yesterday and less today. Kids had 2 days off from school.

I see new people here...haven't been around much as Facebook has taken over my life. lol.

Good Morning All. I just got through with my breakfast. I made some muffins from the recipe on the Ralston cereal box. I didn't put the sugar topping on them. They were pretty tasty. It is 12 degrees out right now and 82 in the house! We got a bit more snow last night. I swept the front porch off early this morning, nice and fluffy snow. Laundry is going to be my main goal today to get taken care of. I may also bottle up the liquid laundry soap I made this week. I sent four jugs with my husband to deliver to Terri and she can pass some on to our Granddaughter when they see her. So I think that is what my day is going to be. Not planning a lot.

Good morning! No need to set my alarm, it's Saturday!! However, my alternate alarm clock with no snooze button, doesn't believe in sleeping late and got me up at 6:15. Grrrr. She starts clicking the crate door and hrmping and stirs the other dogs, so hey, let's get up and have breakfast. Then they all go back to sleep and here I sit!! Still need to transplant some lettuce in the greenhouse today, clean the bathrooms (company coming Sunday), finish getting all the Christmas stuff put away. It should be nice today so I can finally get the outdoor lights and wreaths off the deck and put away. Vacumming is a must, the dogs are shedding like crazy, I just can't brush them enough to keep the hair down. Kind of a crazy time to shed, do they know something I don't? I have to start spinning the dog hair my friend sent and get it back to her in the form of a hat. That might get me moving on my own dog hair. Yep, it's warm and no it doesn't smell "doggie" even when wet. Figure they don't need it anymore so I should make use of it. Need to finish an audio book, so will sit and stitch and listen this afternoon. Tummy making noises so time to feed it. Have a great day everyone!!

I had egg salad for my breakfast too. j Just a half sandwich. I was in a rush to get out the door to go ride. Passed the 90 mile mark in the virtual race today today! 10 more left. So proud of my school horse. We're sad it's coming to an end.

I mowed - again - today, I had just mowed last Thursday but the grass was so high already. Normally I don't like a "sheared" lawn, but I set the deck too low on my mower and didn't realize it. Since it would look weird to do the rest on a higher setting I continued. Golf course like lawns make me uncomfortable! lol Besides all the little wild flowers got their heads chopped off. Maybe I won't have to mow for awhile now though it being so short. There are so many violets and other wild flowers in the orchard that I have a hard time mowing them, so I leave small patches here and there. The ground itself is still very damp. Sometimes when I sit on a chair at my small table down there, a chair leg or two will sink right into the soil sending me backwards. I've learned to be quick to jump off! I think I will plant ever bearing strawberries in my mailbox cover this year just for something different. They will have a white bloom and hopefully have berries most of the summer. At least that's what I envision, will see if it works out.

Update on the day: The living room is so clean. The floor looks fantastic, the furniture is polished, fabrics are washed, cords are corralled. I’m even up to date on the Murdaugh trial, having listened to the Netflix doc at the same time. The poor kitty ventured out once the vacuuming stopped. I haven’t done much in there ever since DH moved his office home…noise, bustle, commentary, meals, etc. But now it looks so good, the dining room next door to it wants a spa day, too! For now, I’m going to collapse in a clean chair with a glass of wine and watch something entertaining.

At our old house, our stove died and for YEARS, I cooked with a 2 burner hot plate and a toaster oven. We did not replace the stove until we moved into our new house, do not know why. I guess I just made it work. Now, I always have backups to cook. In addition to the pink air fryer and toaster oven, I have an electric skillet and electric griddle (both in a beautiful shade of pink, to match everything else) just in case the stove dies and I cant replace it right away, or more likely, delivery is delayed as is was for the fridge. They are both still in the box. But I like having them, just in case. I find takeout less and less desirable now, and do not remember the last time I went through a drive through. I just feel so much better eating home made food, I cannot imagine going for a week or more eating nothing but takeout. And SO will almost NEVER eat food that is not homemade. He thinks everyone that is not me is "nasty" about cleanliness and food prep and hygiene. He's gotten worse over the years. I have a glass top stove and like it fine. Its easier to clean. I can very quickly adapt to any heat source for cooking though. My parents and sister have gas stoves, which are easy to cook on, I have an electric glass top, which took a bit of adjustment because I had to learn that the burners STAY HOT for a long time after you turn them off and you have to factor that in. Same with my stove at work, which is electric with the coils, with I find fiddly to clean and wouldn't choose that for my home. If I ever have to replace the one at home, I would get another glass top. As for my day, it's just getting started. Work work work. I MUST remember to stop by the store on my way to work tomorrow night and get the last ingredients I need to cook the finger food feast for my sister and our own Christmas feast. I need chicken and a baguette. I do NOT want to have to go to the store on Christmas Eve, after working all night, in the middle of a cooking binge. So I hope that I haven't forgotten anything. For tonight though, I am going to settle in, pick which Christmas movie to put on the projector for decoration for everyone to enjoy (either Elf or Christmas Vacation, cant decide) I play it on repeat all night, and hope I have a slow, uneventful night.

Good morning! You sure had a long day, Kathleen! If your weather is anything like ours, it's a good day to sleep. College football season is over ;-( so I have nothing planned at all today. Think I'll just play on the 'puter and listen to FoodTV!!!

If it snowed here it did it before daylight. I did notice about 1/4" of ice on the grill (Harry forgot to put the cover back on). By the end of the week they say we'll be back up in the 70's, which is normal. I sure hope they have it right for once. I hate to see our heating bill. Florida's just not equipped to handle this cold for so long. We've been running 30 degrees colder than average for at least 10 days.

It was a few degrees below zero when I took the dogs out this morning. I just turned the heat up again. I have an ISU basketball game tonight and need to pick up a friend at 5:45 so we can get there early enough to get close up parking. This is the first conference game of the season. I need to run out to the store for milk and a couple of other things. Other than that I am inside all day.

Speaking of heating bills, went to bed early this morning to an 83 degree house. No one is fessing up to turning it up that high but I think I know who did it. Turned it down to 72, or so I thought. Woke up a little while ago to a 63 degree house. I have no idea how that happened.
