hot water heater for baseboard heating

I know this has been discussed before but I can't seem to find it.

What do you think about tapping off my hotwater heater to baseboard heat a small basement room (15x12) which is currently (and poorly) heated by my existing forced hotair system? The main problem is that I have single zone heating and the basement room cools down faster than the main floor.

I was thinking of either augmenting the existing hotair and thermostatically controlling the circ pump (or natural convection ) or totally using the hotwater system.

My hotwater heater is (new) oilfired and probably more efficient than the existing furnace and has 100,000 BTUH capacity, so for two people I don't think the additional load will be a problem.

I would appreciate any input to this project.

Joe
