I don't feel good...

The last couple days I've been really exhausted. I'm getting these annoying headaches, have been crampy and nauseaus. I have never had Braxton Hicks contractions so maybe that's what I'm feeling and just don't realize it.

As ready as I am physically to be done with this pregnancy, I hope she doesn't come any sooner than planned (22nd). I'm not ready! I'm just really tired.....

There's absolutely no point to this post, I'm just thinking and whining out loud! ;-)

Never been-there-done-that (i.e., had kids), but the reward will be worth it. A faint memory in a few weeks. "This too shall pass"...

A cup of chamomile and/or ginger tea? Is that okay for pregnancies? Or maybe some hot mulled cider?

Have been there, done that and can feel your discomfort.

I've been though preterm labor and Braxton Hicks and I'm a support person for women with high-risk pregnancies and preterm labor.

Both BH and preterm labor respond well to drinking lots of water, keeping the bladder empty and laying on your left side. Dehydration can cause the brain to produce pitocin which can start contractions.

Just remember, water is your friend. And hang in there, you will be holding that beautiful little girl before you know it.

You said it. I do know productive members of society who smoke, and I know others who abuse their bodies with food, abuse their minds with television. It's not the guns killing people, it's the people killing people. That said, perhaps that is his one vice? If he works as hard as she says he does, he must need some time to relax. Also, is he a homeowner? I thought it was the OP's house. If it is, then expecting him to contribute and feel equal may be difficult. Have you tried interesting him in exercise? That gives a great natural high. Does he have hobbies you could share? If you're really not interested in being with him because he smokes, yet you knew he smoked, did not ever own a home, etc... prior to getting married, you set yourself up for failure. Don't blame him for your inability to change him. You married a bachelor who has the social and homemaking skills of a college student (no offense to college students!) He doesn't want to grow up. You already have. Invite him to grow up with you, or get out. You deserve more, and your kids deserve more. By the way, don't ever assume kids don't know what's going on. They will find out sooner or later, and you will have to reconcile the "don't do as I do (or DH does) but do as I say" and we know that never works. I'm sorry, but you said to be frank. Sulking is immature. But I do remember reading about how men like going into their caves. He might just need to do that more often than most ! Seems a bit harsh leaving him without trying some counselling at least. You are right when you say you don't want to end up doing the same thing, but I guess you are forced into that situation. Your whole method of conflict resolution needs to be addressed, maybe there are too many issues that cause conflict between you. Perhaps you could read a book about such issues to get you some tips on how to deal with such people. I guess the key is to get him to admit that he has a problem, easier said than done. But if you both admit there is a problem then you can both decide to fix it. It really is a passive aggressive behavour trait that is not acceptable and will ultimately cause havoc.

As a rule, most places do not require permits for cosmetic changes to a home such as replacing kitchen counters or even cabinets. Some places require permits for cosmetic changes that involve major systems, though, such as replacing one lavatory faucet for another or one toilet for another. Those places are relatively rare. Most places will require permits for any type of work to any of the major home systems. You need to add under cabinet lighting to the kitchen? That involved working with the electrical system and in most places would require a permit. You want to change out your shower and add in a rainshower in addition to the wall outlet? That would most likely require a permit, or several, depending on how your muncipality structures things. When in doubt, ask your local codes officer. They are there to clarify and to help homeowners. Their intended purpose is to help keep a home safe to occupy and most are well on board with that intent. Take a visit down to your local codes place and ask the admin assistants who can explain some needed aspects of a project the easiest to a DIYer. Then talk to that guy and explain what is going on with this guy trying to blackmail you and hold you hostage. That would make most human code guys see pretty red. Then let him explain to you what the next step in the process will be. This is a big FLAG for those lurkers out there considering doing projects without permits. It just about ALWAYS comes back to bite you.

I know SD is on the extreme end of "normal"... with regards to the vomiting and attention "getting" technics. But with reading some of your posts seems she might of dipped into abnormal because she does most of the tactics some of you have described. Sweeby ... I am leaning toward your reasoning for attention because in my SM vision it makes sense ... mom has a new BF well bf of 6 months and in the last 9 months she has had some changes visitation change, mom not working, the BF, worries less about mom being alone because mom has the bf, but still worries about mom's bills, because she has to pay daddy(this from the children), Yesterday, I got home from work she was sitting on the couch coloring watching tv very content. Said a few off comments to hubby ... about money .... mommy doesn't have any, its not fair she has to pay you, she shouldn't have to get money from BF to pay you, how come when you need money you always take my moms, (she was with mom for 2 days) mom doesn't have any money she needs to buy groceries, hubby's comments back were basically ... you shouldn't be worried about money, mommy always figures out what to do, I don't have any money either I have to buy groceries and pay bills but you have everything you need... she says I need a new pair of shoes nothing matches my dress. ::shaking head::... I asked her how many pairs of shoes do you have ?? the boys said she has more than most women!!! EEKS I say ... maybe if your parents didn't buy you so many pairs shoes they would have some money. So now its 7:45 and SD starts with a belly ache hubby asks whats going on? she starts bawling... I need to talk to my mom its almost bedtime and I haven't talked to her all day!!!! hubby said you don't need to cry just ask if you can call your mom. She said Can I call my mom? he said sure here's the phone ... 20 minutes later she hands him the phone and heads to bed "night daddy". ::shaking my head again:: IMA ... All my SC do that if I make them "go outside" like I am punishing them ... you might think I was sending them to their rooms ... the way they act, I get home from work and say "its too nice to be inside go out and play" omg they hate me, I am so mean, its too hot out, the list goes on ... I did this april vacation week "made" them go outside and play till lunch time was awful acted like I was pulling out their eyes ... the next day it was pouring out the boys were out playing in the rain and mud.... ::shaking head:: They have gotten into the habit of saying, Can I go to joe schmoes house no I won't be inside we are going to be outside .... ok you can go... Rule: If you are just going to sit in the house you might as well stay home... :)

Oh my heart aches for you Steph, but it is coming to an end now. Hang in there...did you ask the Dr. about the nausea? I had 6 children but never experienced nausea in the late term stage of pregnancy.

((((( Steph ))))) you poor dear. At this stage of your pregnancy things are awkward and uncomfortable enough without anything else coming along to upset the apple cart.

Good Morning, thanks for our replies!

I'm feeling better this morning except that Grant got up at 5:30 and wouldn't go back to sleep so I'm tired, but other than that, I'm okay. The cramping subsided and I dont seem to be nauseaus anymore. Its funny though, I woke up several times in the night, like I always do, and kept thinking I was going to go into labor. It's all I could think about. But I hope I dont, and I dont think I will.

I think my body is just tired and Camryn is running out of room so whenever she moves, she's pushing on some internal organ that is uncomfortable.

Hang in there Steph...her time is coming soon. I know how the last few weeks seemed like an eternity though. I too used to wake up and just wait for any kind of pain to indicate labor. It made me nuts...I think that's normal! The anticipation is nerve rattling. It's your time to rest now....easier said than done with Grant I know! Thank goodness your mom is close by too. Hope you feel fine now until she gets here......I'm thinking of you!

glad you feel better this morning. does grant still take naps? that is YOUR naptime too, right? lol All you need for Camryn is her crib, linens and a few clothes. I'm sure you hve that covered. If you can't get her room "perfect" before she comes, you will get it done after she comes. Most important is your health. So RELAX and veg out!

Glad it wasn't and Jodi gave excellant advice. I hate drinking water....but in your case she is right, its your best friend!
Only a couple more weeks now!!

I'm happy that you feel better this A.M. You can deal with being tired much better than being nauseaus. Just go slowly through your day. This will all be over before you know it.

Yes, fortunately Grant does still nap...usually for 2 hours and I really need it these days. Yesterday he slept for 3 hours which was a treat. I have been napping when he does lately. It's nice.

I have everything ready for Camryn, my house just needs some things done, but like anything else, it can always wait. I just wanted to have some things more organized, but it's not anything urgent or anything.

My Baby Girl was small, but very long and she loved to stretch out in the womb. Ouch! Poor Ribs and Bladder. I think I got a little sick when she was kicking organs around.

Ah Steph I'm sorry your are uncomfortable. I did have nausea late term with my 1st but it was exhaustion that brought it on. If I over did it I would throw up. I was a full time Paramedic until three weeks before my son was born, so I was REALLY over doing it, maybe you are pushing yourself too hard. Don't stress over being "not ready". I know you want everything to be perfect, but I can bet you are already closer to ready and perfect than most. You seem pretty together. Jodi's advice is so good. Relax. Hang in there, it wont be long now.

My first child came two weeks early. Good thing, I was very uncomfortable and tired of being pregnant. She weighed 6 lb 4 oz, a little light but otherwise okay. My second came exactly on time, I was miserable the last 2 weeks, lots of cranping, false labor pains, the works. Relax, it will be over soon. Soon you'll have Camryn in your arms.
