Trane 15 XR Opinions/Quote advice

Thanks in advance for any advice and help. We are replacing the original contractor AC units installed in 1992. There are two units (3 ton and 3 1/2 ton) and currently we have hydroheat (propane) that we seldom use (use our wood stove). The house is in North FL and is about 3700 feet (heated and cooled), single floor on a cement slab. The current system is not zoned.

Suggested replacement is as follows.

2 Trane XR 15 heat pumps (one 3 ton and one 3 1/2 ton)

2 4TEE3F65 Variable Speed Air Handlers

2 Honeywell 8000 series Thermostats

The system would be configured to have two zones on the 3 1/2 ton unit and 3 zones off the 3 ton unit.

The total for the install would be about 13,500.

Does this seem like a good combination of equipment? I noticed some concern about the sound level specs on the XR series when I searched this forum, Has this turned out to be a real world problem?

Thanks again, Bruce
