Here is another reborn doll that I have made. Her name is Gena and she is a sculpt by Michelle Fagan. I really love her face! And I tried painting the hair instead of rooting it this time. I still need to practice on that. :-)

I have trouble with pictures coming out fuzzy or grainy. If anyone knows what I'm doing wrong, I'd sure appreciate some advice on how to do them better!

If I saw this picture somewhere I would swear I was looking at a REAL baby. You do an awesome job Dianamo. I made collectible vinyl dolls for years and would love to try these. Right now I have too many irons in the fire. She is adorable. Keep up the good work.

have you looked at the apple valley dolls? chris wears a size 3 http://welovedolls.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=03H591&Category_Code=36D&Product_Count=0 the only problem with these ones..if you dont know how to reborn then you will have a problem, as they need to be painted. i do reborn and can make her (or him) look as the picture. just let me know. this kit only comes with the head..you still need the body and limbs, plus the wig... i can come up with the body for $39 plus shipping (this also includes armature so you can pose her) , head for $36 plus shipping, wigs vary on what type you want...but generally are $20 and up. then its just cost of having her reborn (i could do her...but there are others here that do it also!). just let me know. im working on getting some pics, but i just moved and my furniture isnt even here.

Thanks Shaxhome. Very good question. There are very important benefits for the sous vide method. 1. Less meat shrinkage, may be 5% less. This adds up to a lot of money. 2. Cheaper cuts of meat. I recently did London broil ($2.49 a lb) medium rare, and tender like expensive steaks. This will save a lot of money also. 3. Precise quality of meat done-ness. Rare, medium rare, medium ----- it is all up to you to set the temperature, nothing can go wrong. No-overcooking or under-cooking. Fool-proof. 4. Makes no difference how big the meat is, from one thin breast meat to a whole turkey. Set it and forget it. 5. Makes no different starting temperature, from frozen to room temperature. No need to poke around with a probe thermometer. 6. Re-heating without over cooking. 7. No need to "rest" the meat. In this case, the steaks were frozen, I put them in the sous vide cooker with a little seasoning, set the temperature at 129 F for one and 133 F for the other. A few hours later, 5 minutes before meal time, fire up the cast iron grill to red hot and grilled the steaks 1 1/2 minutes each side to sear. Perfect steaks. Perfect hot steaks. Thank you! Joan, yes, it is an expensive hobby to get into and even with practice it can take a few weeks to make one. It really depends on how many hours you work on it at a time. Last night I spent about three hours rooting a portion of a doll head, and I only got less than a third of it finished. And once finished, I cross my fingers and hope I can sell it at a price to recoup what I've put into it, and hopefully the time spent working on it. Then, THAT money goes right back into the hobby buying more kits and supplies. It's a never ending circle. But I like making them and seeing the end results.

I just googled the reborn dolls and they are absolutely amazing! Sometimes I think I've lost touch with the rest of the world when it comes to these kinds of things. Everyone knows but me!

I am happy because I'm going to be a grandma again in June!
We just found out it's going to be a little girl. This will make our 6th grandchild!

Oh my - I thought you posted photos of a real baby and then as I scrolled I thought I'd see the one you made. That's amazing. Can you post a photo of the sculpted doll before you painted it? I'd love to see the before and after.

That is awesome. I wish I had a little granddaughter to give those kinds of things to. So far, only grandsons --- five of them.

It is a hobby of mine and I do sell them on eBay, but not often. I've slowed down and only make them occasionally. The market for them is not as good as it used to be. But, I still want to keep in practice in case it picks up. :-)

I've been making them for years now. Still have a lot to learn because the art is always changing and improving. I enjoy posing them and taking the pictures..that's the fun part!

She is beautiful....Does she have a name?

I have always been "artsy" as my family calls it.

Some of my grandchildren also have some "art" in them.

But I don't think I could do that.

I've always wanted one of them.

I think when I'm old and senile I should have one so I could her until I'm alseep.

I always loved rocking my babies to sleep and I always fell asleep with them...

yes you are talented but I'm sorry I have to say these pictures give me the willies.The fourth picture looks like a baby in a casket. What in the world would a person do with one of these if they bought it? I'm not trying to be rude, I just don't understand.

I'm sitting here laughing my head off! I looked at these earlier, too and though I agree totally that they are painted with enormous care and talent, I am totally creeped out by them. I was too chicken to say anything.

I googled 'reborn babies' and looked at all of their images. I may have nightmares tonight.

I just wanted to show my work. :-)

The people who collect do so for their own reasons. Mostly, just because they fall in love with a face or maybe one will resemble a baby from their past. Or maybe, they just think it's cute. There are lots of reasons.

LOL I was just now channel surfing and landed on the Dr Phil show on OWN. The subject was about the people who are obsessed with these "reborns".

I was a tomboy as a child so did not play with dolls, So, not tempted to start now. Like some others here, they kinda creep me out too.

I love them. I have three of them sleeping on the bed in the guest room. One of the cats love to lay next to them.
