white spots but can't find pics that look like this
Comments (3)Thanks for the advice. I will try that, but I'm still hoping for a fix. This picture was actually a very mild case. Sometimes the tomato is covered with those spots and I'm not sure if it's even healthy to eat. I'm wondering if maybe it's a bacterial thing from the standing water in the base of the planter. I mean, it's not possible to dump the water out every so often, because the plant is pretty big and the whole thing would just kind of come apart (the built-in stand, that is). In any case, that's my first theory. I'd love more!...See MoreThrift store find Blue and White dishes! My first!
Comments (13)jeannespines, Colbalt blue!!! Yes, I love that color. I didn't even think of that color! Oh wow, that will be fun to find them, when I think of all the pieces I have walked by in the years past! ha ha I didn't expect that sale, and it was a really plesant surprise! slinkey, Thanks, You have a few pieces? How cool! Yellow will look great too! I can't wait to play with dishes! I sent a picture to Judith (email) and she said she could feel a tablescape coming on! ha ha, that means photos when I put one together. Most of my stuff is packed, so I have nothing to work with, I will have to look around some more! TJMaxx will get a visit soon! I have two near me and 3 Ross stores. The Ross stores do not have much. phonegirl, I know, meant to be! I can't wait to get a few more pieces to work with. I will look at some inspiration photos first with lots of color combinations. Maybe blue and white and silver might be a good place to start... Luvs, Thank you! TS is great for odd pieces and stuff that is out of the ordinary. TJMx and other stores like that all sell the same stuff, at least at TSing makes for a little variety. magpie, Thanks! I can't wait to mix up those colors and see how they make music together! I will look into the tiles around here, thank you so much for that suggestion! Syble, TS is the best! It is a treasure hunt and the thrill of finding something by surprise is wonderful and at a great price! Can't beat it! luckygal, I LOVE 'old Florida' look, I have always loved that look when going into older homes in Miami. Well, you know an older established home just has a certain air about it. Everything seems to just fit. OOOH more treats at the TS's! Thanks for the heads up! Lynn, YOU are so right! I have been following Judith's tablescapes for a while, and it led me to this forum and now I love seeing what you all do with your dishes. I never thought I would become a 'dish addict' BUT, looks like I am there! I am going to check out yellow, greens, white, and cobalt, coral, and oranges. Wow, lots of choices! I might even hang them on the wall! OOOH winter look with silver and white. I already own a lot of silver and white. The possibilities for this new 'dish addict'! Ahhhh! Thanks girls for being contageous!...See MoreOo, Oo, White Dishes
Comments (14)Hope I am not too late OA. I just got home from WmSonoma outlet and they have 70 off 2 kinds of white...one is basket weave, the oither plain. People were buying LOTS of them.. You have near one right? Hop over. It was a great buy. I got mine in Linens and Things. They are made by Gibson, so not the greatest. But I got service for 12 for 60 plus tax. That was with the coupon and on sale. I'll post a pic of them tomorrow. I really don't know that you need the whole place setting..I have never used mine...I have used the dinner plates mixed in with other things. After I bought those I found some neat white swirly plates at Pier One when they had a big sale. I use them more than the white set.. And then some of the white squares that you can find anywhere...See MoreLooking for dinnerware that doesn't get grey cutlery marks
Comments (63)I’ve used Gorham Melonbud 18/10 flatware for the last 26 years. It has left TONS of gray marks on our 1) expensive Mikasa stoneware, 2) Target Threshold porcelain, and now 3) Mikasa bone china. The only surface this 18/10 flatware hasn’t destroyed is a newer set of 4 Target Threshold porcelain salad plates that I bought to replace some of the original set that broke. Got others in that style thinking I’d found the perfect match … nope, only those 4 can defend against the Melonbud. I’m giving up. It must be the flatware but that goes against everything out there that says 18/10 is the “hardest” and shouldn’t leave marks. Might switch to plastic, lol. ;0)...See Morebac717
