Trafficmaster Allure Vinyl Planks in Basement
Comments (4)If you're looking for a tile that's moisture resistant and looks amazing then I would definitely check out www.ceilume.com. I used their drop ceiling tiles in my basement and am thrilled to say the least. Moisture was a huge concern for me as well and I was assured by the Ceilume staff that these would be suitable for my basement, and they were right. I too checked out the tiles from Home Depot and Lowes but the were so ugly I had to look for something else before deciding on them. I found Ceilume online and got their free samples which can be found here: http://www.ceilume.com/ceilingtile_browsefreesamples.cfm When they say Free, they mean it unlike almost all other online tile companies. There was not even a charge for shipping and they gave me a coupon good for 5% off my order. Not much but it definitely helped. So far I am very pleased, the customer service was great, the product was inexpensive, and the tiles look like they are much more expensive then just the vinyl they are made out of. Good luck to you!...See MoreTrafficMaster Allure Grip Plus
Comments (1)Yes, I just installed it in our back entryway. I love it! It's beautiful. It went down SO fast! And I think the beveled edges are better because I don't freak out over seams (you see them anyhow). I think they are beautiful! Don't worry about the streaks i the photo. Me (and the dog) had tracked some drywall dust through and I did a very poor job of wiping it up :) I was planning to install this in the living room, but I stumbled across a pallet of prefinished oak at Restore for less than the Allure, and I couldn't pass up that deal. I have installed the Allure flooring in 6 bathrooms, a kitchen and now this little project. This new Allure Plus is my current favorite, though this Travertine look I put in the last bathroom comes in a close second (It is not the "plus" version)...See MoreQuestions on installing Trafficmaster Allure vinyl planks
Comments (2)I would pull the toilet, but not a whole vanity cabinet. I would remove the pedestal from a pedestal sink. It doesn't look silly at all, to run planks different in different rooms. A Tee molding, unless it is something special/different, at doorways....See MoreLaying laminate/engineered wood floor upstairs over Allure vinyl?
Comments (0)Hi all, I've been a long time "stalker" on this website for any questions I've had whilst I've been doing some DIY renos with my mom (nothing major, though). Anyway, a couple years ago my mom had me rip up her old, 22yr old carpet to lay down Allure vinyl planks until we were able to afford well made laminate or hardwoods. The planks have served their purpose now, and next spring we're planning on laying the new laminate or engineered hardwood floors (floating of course). So do I need to rip up the Allure, and take it back to the subfloor? or leave it be. Also what's the best underlay to use under laminate or engineered? is there a different kind for different flooring? I should also mention the vinyl was installed directly over the plywood (?) subfloor (which is level) in the LR, Master Bed, and Hallway. and applied over 70's linoleum sheets in office and my room but isn't much of a height difference right now. Thanks :)...See Morelarrylwill
