Ir was recommended to us by a couple who installed it in their Las Vegas home. We just brought 2 boxes home to look at it for a bathroom and then adjoining bedroom. My search hasn't come up with much but what there was was positive. It was a Canadian Forum similar to this. One recommendation was to put double faced tape around the perimeter, and one person said have it done professionally?

Daisyadair, your stairs are LOVELY! Great job and kudos to you and your hubby for a job well done!! Looks like you had folks from "This Old House" in to do the work! ;) Being one who likes these DIY projects, maybe it wouldn't be that hard to replace those 2 piece treads with inexpensive pine treads, which could then be painted. It might even be less expensive than carpeting. Remember, the cost of carpeting is directly tied to the cost of oil because its a petroleum product. So you get what you pay for. And cheap carpeting on stairs won't last long at all. Painted stairs would still be safer than trying to use vinyl with metal edges. Again, good luck!

About 10 years ago I put Allure vinyl flooring grip strip 12x36" in the garage of a rental home that I owned to cover up oil stains, etc. The only prep was washing out the garage. The house is 42 years old. I had gotten a divorce and moved in. It still looks fabulous, brand new and is exposed to outside temperature & moisture. I wanted to put some of it in my house and went to Home Depot and looked at the new Traffic Master versions and it looked great. Then I started reading 100s of reviews and looking at pictures. Yikes!! It is like I bought a totally different product a decade ago.

Don't know what other people are experiencing with the Trafficmaster floor tiles but I'm very satisifed with the product. You can install it/float it right over top the existing vinyl floor as I did.The original vinyl flooring in the kitchen was shot but i did not want to tear it all up and looked for alternatives and found this product. I watched a few youtube videos on installing the flooring and followed the advice about laying it carefully. I used a 4" Caster wheel available at Home Depot to apply strong pressure and roll the joints with and it worked great and after the job was finished, I returned the caster wheel for my money back. It seems wise to install the flooring at the median temperature that the floor will be most of its life to reduce any gaps from expansion, contraction, etc. and leave a tiny gap around the edges of the walls and counter bases so it can breath a bit. I left about a 1/8" gap. You can cover that gap with something like shoe molding. I installed the 12" x 36" Cyprus tiles for a total of about 250 dollars. i have lived with it for over a year now and I love it. Clean it with a wet rag or damp mop. If you get right down on the floor and inspect it all VERY closely you may find a few gaps between some tiles but they aren't even large enough to stick a credit card into.I have not had any lifting in ANY location. I have shown the floor to many folks and they like it a lot and others plan to try it in their homes.I do not know how it will perform on a cold concrete floor but it has performed beautifully in my kitchen.
