Hahaha, great title. Like Beach, I've seen this happen a few times and yes, sudden exposure to sun is not good. I think this happens when you buy a plant grown by a grower who uses lower light and more fertilizer to grow plant big and fast. When you get it home and place it in higher light the sidewalls, which are usually protected in nature, become exposed and burn/dry out. I also think the new leaves adjust to higher light before they emerge and so will grow more compact, not high up enough to split the old leaves. Then we have a simple matter of following the path of least resistance. Do these plants make my butt look fat... you're so funny. Thanks for the laugh.

If/when we gut our master bath, this is exactly what we will do with newly de-tiled wallspace inside the door (backing into closet in bedroom). However, our set-up will be deeper (made from 11"x1" boards), and open (baskets on shelves). I hope to recess the existing (utilitarian, from Lowes) medicine cabinet into the wall opposite the sink, and place a large framed mirror on the wall above the sink. This way, we're maximizing all the available wall space. Can't wait!

Thanks awm03, I was worried about rocking the boat being a newbie, but I KNOW from experience it's true. I used to teach a body sculpting class and worked out almost everyday at our local gym. But b/c of new managment I quit, but didn't quit my eating habits. When I worked out I could eat everything I wanted to. But after I quit I gained about 10-15 pounds. I started working out again b/f X-mas and eating clean but not dieting and lost 6# in 2 weeks. The article is interesting, but we know the real culprit.
