There are lots of things that can slow your computer down. If I'm not mistaken, the "hourglass looking thing" is the icon your computer displays when it is loading a page. The hourglass represents the idea that the process you are initiating will take some time on the computer. The hourglass is an automatic icon that shows up on everyone's computer when it is taking time to "think" so to speak. Now, the real question is why is it taking so much time. There are lots of things that can "gunk" up your computer memory so that it takes a lot of time to execute functions. Pop up ads and spyware are some of the things. Running a lot of programs at the same time is another. An anti-virus program can also slow you down (aske me how I know, lol!). Defragging and eliminating programs you don't use are good ways to free up memory so that it can be devoted to loading and displaying Web pages. Also, if your computer has a small memory, you might want to consider a memory upgrade. Also, some Web pages have a lot of features on them that use up memory--like videos, photos, and other animated features. The problems that you are having with your clock and calendar might indicate a problem with the battery. The battery went completely out on a laptop I had once. This should not affect page loading speed when the computer is plugged in, at least I don't think so. It is possible to have more than one thing wrong with your computer at once though!!

Good job all of you. It is really cool to be able to do this for the first time. My son wrote out the line of code and taped it to my computer monitor. That's how I finally got it, by being able to read it right in front of me everytime I wanted to insert a photo. Note for any who are testing their skills.......when you type out your message and insert your photo, the photo WILL show up when you hit "preview message" before submitting. So, if there is no photo on the preview page, there won't be one on the real deal. Red

dedtired, I must have known what you meant, because I didn't even notice. Auto correct sure is fun though, isn't it? You type what you want and it thinks you meant something else so changes it for you. You can't remember how to spell something that it should be able to guess and it has no clue. I turned it off on my first smart phone, but it's rather fun to see what it comes up with, so I left it on my new phone and now my tablet. It's certainly good for a laugh now and then and who doesn't need more laughter in their lives? No worries Joanmn. You are not the first to do so and won't be the last.

No, actually you cannot post photos from a photo hosting site, at least not very easily. To post a photo that is on your iphone, tap the photo icon when composing your message and then choose your photos library (the photos app) from the popup menu. ETA You can even take a photo right then and it will post here, if you choose that option.
