Mommy. I miss you so much. Please help me guys

Where do i even start. This is all such a mess...

Im 17. My mother died on July 17 2009

She died of an oxicontin overdose, her doctor was giving her 60 pills a week...and it became to much for her

She was 35. Only 35...

She had 7 kids. Me being the oldest, and was JUST about to divorce my stepfather, who is now taking care of 6 kids

God. I have no idea what to do. I just cry. All day. I get so angry

I need her. Im 17...It wasnt her time.

I...Im losing my mind. I need some friendly words. Please, anything would help

Gina, I wish I were able to pull you into my arms and give you a big hug. Is there an adult you can confide in, did mom have a sister? Or is her mom available to you? A best friend? You need a support system, perhaps a grief counselor.....

There's no easy way, Gina, I'm so sorry that you lost your mom, that is a very young age. I lost my mom about the same time, she was much older so perhaps not as tragic a loss as yours but a painful one. Find a clergy member or someone that you can talk to, cry with and who will hold you.

Again, if you are in HS, ask for help. Call the local YMCA, check churches for grief counseling and look for support groups. Be strong for your brothers and sisters. Who takes care of them when Dad works. You will survive if you choose to, but you do need outside support. Apparently Dad can't or will/will not help? The meds she was on is a very strong one and used for pain. What were her illnesses? Could you talk to the Dr's for help, without drugs?

I am working with two landscaping companies getting prices, not too late to plant but getting later. I wonder now that I have really researched the ginko if they really know if its male. They don't fruit for quite some time, I do not want a female for sure. And by the time it might fruit, it would be too late to go back on the company. He said its male but they don't seem to sell well, they have several as well as the other place too? Beautiful tree though. I might get a Sweet Gum, they get big but my neighbor across the street has one and its so beautiful this year, I loved all the colors. I think thats the tree for me right now. I still love October Glory and have for years, my love of that tree has not wavered. I did look at serveral others including service berry, need shade not sure how much shade they provide. I have a small young 4yrs mimosa I was going to get ride of but they say let it go a few more years that it just might be not ready to flower. Its not yet. thanks for all the help

Hey Theresa! So glad your comp is fixed! Welcome back!! I havent been on much lately myself either. So busy..and hoping to get a new pond goin for my bday! My back is in pain already, lol & I havent even started. Not sure if I wanna add on to what I already have or replace it..really want to just add on, or have another seperate 12x8 one w/a 3' section for the fish in winter..don't really wanna have to take out what's already in. How big & deep is yours? How are your lilies and everything doin? I'm getting more buds on my waterlilies you sent me, and have 3 erect lotus leaves so faar, but no blooms on that yet. Any brug blooms?? I still havent even had one..waaahh.

Hi! 1.Number one difference that I have read between dat and brug is that dats don't get woody. Once you see each, you will be able to tell the dif very easily. Even if it's not flowering. Dat flowers don't get as big as brug flowers, and yes sometimes the dats get heavy and point downwards, but usually start out up. Also I have noticed that dat buds always point up, where as brug buds when teeny tiny are upright, but will start pointing downward as about 1/4 of an inch. 2. I would say use the GH. Temps in the 40's should be fine. Not that it is necessary, but, You can try to keep it warmer by having black flooring, or painting milk jugs black and filling them with water. Set them about the GH, they will retain the heat and let it out at night. 3. I personally would go with potting up the cuttings. 4.I say the whole plant of the dat would be better than cuttings. If you wanted, I suppose you could dig up the whole plant, nice size rootball with it, transplant it and take cuttings as well. That way, if it dies from shock and the roots go, you will still have the cuttings. I myself havent done dat cuttings, so..I dont know how easy or hard they are. 5. Yes, you should see flowers next year from cuttings started this fall, or even winter. Mine I started from cuttings last year, kept trying to flwoer all summer, but between bugs, and weather, not to mention a dog or 2 knocking things over...they kept dropping. You will get flowers on your cuttings sooner if the cuttings are from above a "Y". Otherwise, if they are taken from below the "Y" that new plant will have to form a "Y" before it flowers. You may have enough to share cuttings, you may not. Some grow faster than others. Hope I helped a lil bit :) If I am wrong, someone here will correct me, lol. Daniella

Oh, (((Jill))) I am so sorry for your terrible loss. I just posted my story & noticed yours. Your grief is still so new...mine is 21 months old after losing my 27-year old son. These first few days, weeks & months (for me anyway) will be a foggy blur. You do things because they are automatic. I remember feeling SO angry when I had to take the first shower afterward. "WHY do I still need to bathe!?! EAT??? Why is everyone just going around like nothing has happened, don't they KNOW!?!" That numbness carried me through plus I had family here that I needed to cook for, watch grands, prepare for funeral, all of it. I remember finally falling into bed several nights later & finally just letting go on hubby's shoulder. We had to be strong for daughter-in-law, 3 grands & her family. You cannot be responsible for what other family members do or do not do. Just focus on what you need to do and don't let anyone or anything keep you from what you need to do. I remember listening to my son's cell phone message over & over just to hear his voice. That's normal & to be expected. Your tears will come & go. I remember when I laughed the first time, I felt guilty. We gathered at a close friend's house after the funeral and had a wonderful family & friend time together. We had to drive 300 miles to Anchorage from Valdez, Alaska so it was quite the challenge to arrange things from afar. Just take it one day at a time...every day will be different. Do you have any type of support group, church, minister or someone you can talk to? I think just coming here will be good for you. This is the first time I've been able to 'talk' to someone about what happened to us outside of our immediate family. Just keep talking to us...letting us know how you are doing. Gina, Lynn took the words out of my mouth. If I was near, I would take you in my arms and give you a big hug. She is right, You need to find someone you can talk to. At times in my life have I relied on my pastor to talk with. Find friends who will be supportive. Just know that god is with you. Have you ever heard of foot prints in the sand?

I sincerely hope this message brings peace to you.

Footprints in the Sand
One night a man had a dream,
He dreamed he was walking along
the beach with the LORD.
Across the sky flashed
scenes from his life.

For each scene he noticed
two sets of footprints in the sand,
One belonging to him and
the other to the LORD.

When the last scene flashed before him,
he looked back at the footprints in the sand.
He notice many times in his life there was
only one set of footprints.

He also noticed that it happened to be at
the very lowest and saddest times in his life.
This really bothered him and
he questioned the LORD about it.

"LORD, you said once I decided to follow You,
You'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life,
there is only ONE set of footprints.
I don't understand why
when I needed You the most
You would leave me."

The LORD replied:

"My son, my precious child,
I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
When you see only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you."

Gina,

My heart goes out to you. I hope you find some comfort in knowing that I have been in the exact same place as you before and it will not last forever. You'll have moments where you feel the world will go on turning and you'll stop and realize that you were just laughing and enjoying life. What everyone else has written is right, you should try to reach out to people around you but I do understand that that may be hard to do with other 17 year olds. You have already started by reaching out on this blog and I hope you feel listened to and supported by me.

I lost my dad when I was 10 and I just recently lost my mom. I know that it aches and it hurts and it feels there is no way to fill the hole in your chest. But just cry, write, talk, and feel it. I promise it will start to get easier, it will just take time. Try to find a good outlet for your feelings, this may be one of them (running has helped me a lot, drinking or numbing out in other ways does not).

My thoughts are with you. I'm lending you strength from afar. Post again if you'd like to keep a conversation going.

I miss my mommy too and I am 43 and lost her a month ago.
Gina no one can take the place of your mom, but I know you will have several who are like mommies to you.
