The problem here in No Ca, you don't really know what the weather will be! I've had tomatoes last into January, but last year we had a couple of weeks of temps around 19*! (pretty darned cold for this area!) I have 2 3x6 beds that I clear out for winter stuff , and just cardboard over the other beds til it's time to start working stuff in (now, cause of drought and warm temps and compost being ready) It's difficult to predict and plan. It's been in the 60s-70s, even a couple of 80s the last couple of months! We have poppies blooming, for goodness sake! Nastursiums and petunias never died off! We are still1 1/2 months til last possible frost, though. Nancy

Repair of a broken branch of a tree. Step-by-step process.

By not speaking their language I find it difficult to understand well the information offered by some pages. I am sorry. Why do you think the tree will not recover? Maybe because the repair is poorly done? Or the reason is by the thickness of the branch that has separated? I, on the other hand, believe that the branch has been firmly united. Another issue is that Acacia dealbata are very little trees (those in my garden are already more than 30 years). They grow very quickly and their wood is very soft. I came to live in this place three years ago but the care that these trees received previously were practically none. They should have been pruned and not allowed to grow so long branches. The soft wood, the long branches and that the tree is old is what along with the strong wind has originated the break. There has been no harm in any other tree in the garden. Probably for these reasons that I have commented this tree, although it would not have suffered this damage, would have died in not many years. Other Acacia dealbata from my garden have already died. Through the wounds it is very possible that pathogens and even insects enter. This is why it is very dangerous for trees to be injured. But I do not think it's the repair that has been done that causes the damage. How would you have repaired

step by step working on basement

Do you have any construction experience? If not then you're in for quite the adventure! Doing your basement yourself can be very rewarding! But it also takes a lot of time. I'm not sure what you mean by debt free; If you're going to save up to do your basement in chunks, why not just save up to do your basement all at once? The cost is determined by the complexity of the floor plan and the size of your basement, without those, it would be hard to advise you on the costs. You can see a really good resource for building your own basement here: http://www.ifinishedmybasement.com/ Best of luck!

A few months ago, I began with the HTML Primers at HTML Goodies (mentioned above) and then learned from lots of other places. I just now checked out the link that debincal included above with the step-by-step instructions and I have to say that's the best, simplest, talk-you-through-it step-by-step I've seen yet for the beginner. Though geared for AOL users (tells you how to upload your pages to AOL), the steps before that to get your page started are the best.

I also like Boogie Jack's as mentioned by Dave.

Once you learn the basics, be sure to check out the excellent help at the W3C and also Web Design Group. They've helped me clean up my code quite a bit so that most (if not all) browsers can render my pages as expected.

Good luck, and have fun! I was very intimidated at first but stuck with it and I've learned a lot in just a few months.
