For aligning text the best thing is to put your text in tables. If you are not familar with tables, but have basic knowledge of html then they are easy to learn. Here is a link that explains tables and gives you copy/paste codes to use. Ed's site was created for ebay users, but the codes can be used on any web page. Here is a link that might be useful: Tables 101

Partly just to see how it will post. Partly to remind myself that a problem doesn't have to be tackled in one go. It's okay to chip away at it bit by bit. chugger@gigabyte:~/Desktop/season 1$ ls History.Ch.How.the.Earth.Was.Made.Complete.Season.1.01of13.San.Andreas.Fault.XviD.AC3.MVGroup.org.avi History.Ch.How.the.Earth.Was.Made.Complete.Season.1.02of13.The.Deepest.Place.on.Earth.XviD.AC3.MVGroup.org.avi History.Ch.How.the.Earth.Was.Made.Complete.Season.1.03of13..Krakatoa.XviD.AC3.MVGroup.org.avi History.Ch.How.the.Earth.Was.Made.Complete.Season.1.04of13.Lock.Ness.XviD.AC3.MVGroup.org.avi History.Ch.How.the.Earth.Was.Made.Complete.Season.1.05of13.New.York.XviD.AC3.MVGroup.org.avi History.Ch.How.the.Earth.Was.Made.Complete.Season.1.06of13.Driest.Place.On.Earth.XviD.AC3.MVGroup.org.avi History.Ch.How.the.Earth.Was.Made.Complete.Season.1.07of13.Great.Lakes.XviD.AC3.MVGroup.org.avi History.Ch.How.the.Earth.Was.Made.Complete.Season.1.08of13.Yellowstone.XviD.AC3.MVGroup.org.avi History.Ch.How.the.Earth.Was.Made.Complete.Season.1.09of13.Tsunami.XviD.AC3.MVGroup.org.avi History.Ch.How.the.Earth.Was.Made.Complete.Season.1.10of13.Asteroids.XviD.AC3.MVGroup.org.avi History.Ch.How.the.Earth.Was.Made.Complete.Season.1.11of13.Iceland.XviD.AC3.MVGroup.org.avi History.Ch.How.the.Earth.Was.Made.Complete.Season.1.12of13.Hawaii.XviD.AC3.MVGroup.org.avi History.Ch.How.the.Earth.Was.Made.Complete.Season.1.13of13.The.Alps.XviD.AC3.MVGroup.org.avi chugger@gigabyte:~/Desktop/season 1$ rename 's/History.Ch.How.the.Earth.Was.Made.Complete.Season.1.//' *.avi chugger@gigabyte:~/Desktop/season 1$ ls 01of13.San.Andreas.Fault.XviD.AC3.MVGroup.org.avi 08of13.Yellowstone.XviD.AC3.MVGroup.org.avi 02of13.The.Deepest.Place.on.Earth.XviD.AC3.MVGroup.org.avi 09of13.Tsunami.XviD.AC3.MVGroup.org.avi 03of13..Krakatoa.XviD.AC3.MVGroup.org.avi 10of13.Asteroids.XviD.AC3.MVGroup.org.avi 04of13.Lock.Ness.XviD.AC3.MVGroup.org.avi 11of13.Iceland.XviD.AC3.MVGroup.org.avi 05of13.New.York.XviD.AC3.MVGroup.org.avi 12of13.Hawaii.XviD.AC3.MVGroup.org.avi 06of13.Driest.Place.On.Earth.XviD.AC3.MVGroup.org.avi 13of13.The.Alps.XviD.AC3.MVGroup.org.avi 07of13.Great.Lakes.XviD.AC3.MVGroup.org.avi chugger@gigabyte:~/Desktop/season 1$ rename 's/.XviD.AC3.MVGroup.org//' *.avi chugger@gigabyte:~/Desktop/season 1$ ls 01of13.San.Andreas.Fault.avi 05of13.New.York.avi 09of13.Tsunami.avi 13of13.The.Alps.avi 02of13.The.Deepest.Place.on.Earth.avi 06of13.Driest.Place.On.Earth.avi 10of13.Asteroids.avi 03of13..Krakatoa.avi 07of13.Great.Lakes.avi 11of13.Iceland.avi 04of13.Lock.Ness.avi 08of13.Yellowstone.avi 12of13.Hawaii.avi chugger@gigabyte:~/Desktop/season 1$ ls : sed -E 's/(..)(of13)(.*)/mv "&" \"s01e\1 - \3\"/' mv...

Gene, My need to code HTML is pretty limited. Mostly I post ads to Craigslist and adjust formatting within someone else's framework. No style sheets or scripts, so I don't need a full-blown editor, heck, a text editor works fine but can be a bit tedious. I was using SeaMonkey but with the latest greatest update it started adding "space" to my code. It didn't effect the output but there were lines of "space" within the code that seemed to grow with every save. Just annoying as heck. KompoZer seems to work ok, especially given the price but it wants to create code that meets the latest, greatest standards which doesn't always help me. Of course, if you need to manage a site with many files, Dreamweaver's site management tools are the way to go. Neither, SeaMonkey or Kompozer have them.

Writersblock is right, but in some browsers, the border is really obnoxious. Also, the alt, the description, is what comes up when the image is loading slowly or not at all (some security systems strip the images) as well as being what the accessibility readers speak aloud, so it's considered bad form not to include it. It doesn't need to be a full on description. Just something descriptive like "sink". Or "stainless sink" for one and "cast iron sink" for another. Changing the visual size with height and width numbers is an easy way to do it when you're pasting in from another website, but keep in mind it doesn't change the size of the picture, just the size it is shown at. If it's a photo off of a camera at full size, it's going to be a huge file (as in megabytes) and take a long time to load and be rejected by some servers. If you change the size in a photo editing program, the file size will change accordingly, your picture will display correctly without the extra code, and won't deliver all that excess information. Giving credit has nothing to do with stealing bandwidth and violating copyright. It's very good manners to give credit. It's better manners not to use pictures and internet resources without permission.
