I'm using this to ask about something else... the Home Site forums are gone because even if they get downloaded and I tell them to open, they don't. Or at least they don't on my iMac. Are Mac users now going to be excluded from those forums? I would really appreciate an answer.

After posting to a ID request, I have another topic which could be coupled with another FAQ or go by itself. No one is answering my ID request. Why? Reasons may include: - No embedded picture or clickable link to picture - A link to a photo album with many images - Poor pictures - People may not know! Ways to increase the chances you will get an ID request answered: - Embed photo directly in post - If embedding a photo in post isn't possible, include link to photo in "Optional Link URL" - Don't include links in the body of the post that people have to cut-and-paste into their browser window to see - If multiple images included of different plants, number them clearly - Don't include photo album links with oodles of plants to ID. Best results are gained when including 6 or less different plant ID's into one post. - Follow the photo and detail FAQ's as much as possible - If no one as answered in a few days, post a follow-up so the post gets seen again. - And in short - make it as easy as possible for people to answer your request and be gracious! People are generously offering their time and expertise to help you. FataMorgana

Do you have any idea what the rose is? It sure is pretty. Laurie

Mike, I appreciate the feedback. Your right in that this was a quick cut at trying to format some information that I was having trouble "posting" on this forum. I was losing the formatting and hyperlinks if I used "word" to create/format the information and then pasted into this forum. Weedy sent some information on how to do some html coding that ended up taking me more time than I had hoped. My thought was to use a web site design program that does the conversion to html automatically and then cut and paste that into here when it was done. The link showed that attempt. I would also like to create a central place where people can post pictures of their completed decks porches, kinds and styles of rails so others can get ideas. Someone did that on the kitchen forum and it worked well. Now, if the fog would go away - I could finish staining my deck and quit thinking about them.
