It's the lid that closes up from the bottom of her eyes. I really don't think it's an infection. The lid (usually the left one) just seems stuck. The next time I have chance I will look for the o mansoni though I would worry that I might damage her eye in the process. We are in northern Wisconsin so I would be surprised if that were the problem. I will not use any more Neosporin--I just put it around her eye which probably didn't do any harm or good. I hesitate to give her Sulmet. Other than the eye(s) she is very healthy. She's the only one small enough to fit under the garden gate so she spends a lot of time in the garden helping herself. She has a small waterer and food there and I always give her treats. While she is small, she is not at all thin. She still sleeps with 4 of her clutch-mates, 2 of them bantams. HI, My son is four years old. We notice about a year or so ago that one of his eyes would just wander off, it would not go inward, but it would go outward. It was really hard to see it happen, usually only when he looked distances or was tired or really mad. We went to a specialist and they said he had external strabismus which basically involves the eye muscles not being strong enough, so the eyes don't focus on the same thing, and one wanders off. He wore a eye patch on his "good eye" for awhile, trying to get the other eye stronger, but that did not help. Now he is losing vision in that particular eye because the muscles aren't exercising, so kind of a lack of use I guess. He is scheduled for surgery at the end of the month, surgery on both eyes because I guess both have it, but one is a bit stronger so you don't notice it. They say once the surgery is completed, the vision should correct itself. So def take your daughter in, if they say it's nothing, get a second opinion, because we had to go to two different doctors before anyone wanted to do anything. Good luck!

Here's a remarkable part: Call it karma, sowing and reaping, what goes around comes around, a providential God, etc. but I spent right under $130 on vet bills. This was mostly meds and blood work, btw. Last week, I got an email, unsolicited and a general type sent out from my vets office for 3 free packages of Frontline Plus for each of my "three" dogs. "Stray" was counted as one of my dogs. I called the vets office to find out what the deal really was, they hadn't looked closely at the email but it was legit. I printed out a coupon for each dog and went that afternoon to pick up 3 packages of 3 Frontline Plus for Extra Large Dogs totally free. I didn't get my wallet out. This will last my two small dogs over two years at a savings of about $120 or more.

The sensors are a safety feature. The unit is designed not to allow the door to close automatically unless the photo circuit is complete (i.e. sensor transmitter is connecting with the sensor receiver). As you probably know the door will fully close using the wall switch as long as you hold the button until the door is completely closed. The logic for this system is embedded in the program on the logic board and is specifically designed not to be easily bypassed. In fact I'm not aware of any site where a procedure to bypass the sensors is available. Short answer is: Yes, the system will only work with the eyes connected. You need to get some replacement sensors and restore the system for your remotes to work properly. Hope this helps.
