Thanks Ladies! Am rushed for time but wanted to say that DH has ordered the cast cover that Outsideplaying and Cat Mom suggested. It should get here on Friday. Thank you for that one, Ladies!! Have made and frozen 4 dinners so far: Shepherd's Pie, Spaghetti and my homemade meatballs, Meatball Stroganoff and (today) my homemade Chicken Noodle Soup. Thanks to Joanie for reminding me to think about comfort foods. I made my own personal comfort food: my homemade Chicken Noodle Soup this afternoon! Thanks to Jshore's suggestion, I'm making sure that everything is pre-cut into small pieces as I won't be able to cut things for at least the first week. I had NOT even thought of that before she suggested it! I have my list (thanks to you all) of things to do and to buy in the next 4 days and am checking them off one by one. I feel so, so much more prepared because of you all. I am usually a super-organized person, but have found that in stressful times like this, I do need a little help from my friends. Thank you for that! I'm off to go iron 3 or 4 shirts for DH. By Sunday, I'll have a at least a week's worth ironed and ready for him. Lynn

Awm, thank you for the tips and link! It was fun to see what your first impressions were. And no, no worries-- as I posted in my initial post, I was never planning on using them day after day. I had yoga and ballet scheduled in on alternate days. While I have never been good about working out, I understand the need for muscles to rest. :) I have put off buying a kettlebell, however. I am concerned about the whole lead thing . . .so many get bad reviews (leaving blisters), too. Seems like the only good ones are expensive (I am not sure about the lead in them) and I don't want to commit that much money to them w/o knowing if they are for me. Outside, wow! Three generations! That is fantastic. Should be fun just to be together! Patty, that is fantastic! Your bones must love you for putting the time into them! Beth, yay for Normal the trainer! I am so glad you clicked, and he sounds worth the investment. RE: losing an ounce, is it possible that, as your building more muscle mass, any weight you lose in fat won't show up on the scale because you are adding muscle? But, I think a visit to the doctor is a good idea . . .how do you feel? I'm sorry about your allergies! I bought ankle weight that are adjustable, but they are just too big for me. BUT, I tried them for one workout, and I see the benefit. I do the modified versions of some exercises due to my knees, but with the weights, then I am getting more out of the exercise. It's a good way for me to get a harder workout but safely. So, now I need to find some new ones. My yoga video is coming today . . .and I am going to get a few heavier weights, and maybe a video by the trainer Annie recommended. (She seems like fun!) Thanks for your reply Linda. Well it is 8 weeks since the accident so what is a couple more now. It is just part of my thumb that doesn't work (last two joints) but I have feeling and my tendons aren't dead I can assure you because trying to make the thumb works puts pain up nearly to my elbow. My Dr did say I don't know if it can be fixed...I kinda freaked and he sent an urgent fax!!! The way my wrist looked I'm lucky it is not worse. The palm of my hand was almost touching my forearm and then my fingers were poking out everywhere...very gross. I was wondering if the tendon could be pinched vs torn because it hurts so much to force movement? I did read they can do a scope of a wrist like a knee so maybe that will be done...is that a bad thing to have? I like to sew and do needlework so this thumb thing has me down. Jean

Thanks again for all your help guys! I had a couple more quick questions... Even though the grass is on the "thin" side, it grew enough in height that I could cut it for a second time this week (6 days between mowings). I set the mower so that I only cut about a 1/2" off the top. I wanted to get it cut before this round of rain we're supposed to get this weekend and hopefully to stimulate more growth and filling out up top. Do you guys feel its wise to keep doing this or should I let it grow more? Secondly...as mentioned before, I've stopped all watering due to the amount of rain we've received. We had two good days (yesterday and the day before) without rain. I noticed that the blades began to fold in on themselves a little which I thought was an indication of the need for water. Having said that, I tested the soil and its pretty moist at a 6" depth and the pieces have all taken root to where I can't lift them. If we get some dry days after this rain and I see the blades folding in again, should I continue to hold off on watering and let the soil dry out even more? Sorry for the newbie questions...just waiting for the grass scares me =D I guess it takes some experience to learn its better to give the grass what it actually needs vs. what you think it needs.
