I'm shocked to see some of the comments here on castor seeds being poisonous. Growing up in the Caribbean we picked the pods and laid it out to dry just to hear it pop and see the seeds fly out. Now that I'm older and trying to adopt a much healthier lifestyle I have been using oils such as castor oil, rosemary oil to name a few for my hair. It does wonders for my hair and scalp, no itching no dandruff and promotes great hair growth as it helps with circulation . Picked some pods just this morning. Rastafarians have been using it for centuries in their hair and to oil their bodies after a shower. I also know that fresh pure castor oil can be ingested to purge and it works immediately too. Someone mentioned on this forum it's cheap. Let me tell you good pure castor oil is not cheap you can easily pay a good US$50.00 or more for a liter. I know that pharmaceutical grade is available as well and seem to be a little more affordable but I don't use it.

Oil goes rancid quickly in ground seeds or oil; I grind mine in my herb mill (electric 'coffee' grinder) & store in the freezer in a small jam jar. I start with about a Tbsp of milk thistle seed (grind that a bit first) then add about 2 Tbsp of flax seed, grind that a bit; & then sesame seeds to fill the hopper. I usually add about a teaspoon of fennel seed before the sesame seeds, to aid digestion. The sesame seed hulls are high in calcium, (1/4 cup ~ the daily allowance of calcium) & the milk thistle good for the liver. Several herbalist friends suggest sprinkiling the flax/milk thistle mix on your morning cereal or on salads, rather than taking oil or capsules. The milk thistle seed coats can irritate some folks stomachs - so you need to see if this works for you.

I have heard and read from a guy that beat cancer without chemo and radiation that the stuff is soooo processed it causes inflammation!! The only type he recommends is by biotics research. I buy my vit d3 drops from them. seems good. better to go with CLEAN plant omega 3 and make sure your ratios are close to what they should be. Remove all processed foods with a HIGH omega 6 level because of synthetic ingredients/vitamins. For, they are SYNTHETIC and cause the body/cells HARM and DAMAGE. "Commercially raised beef and chicken can have a ratio of as much as 15:1 Omega-6 to Omega-3 because the animals are fed grain based diets specifically designed to fatten them up." The rest of my fat intake comes from foods I consume in various amounts weekly: raw milk, raw cheese, raw pasture-raised eggs, olive oil, avocados, raw nuts and seeds, clean meats (organic grass-fed beef and lamb, organic free-range chicken, wild-caught alaskan salmon). I also take Parent EFA supplements daily. Udos Choice 3-6-9 Blend YES Ultimate EFAs" This is good information. Considering alot of fish are over processed and just full of harmful toxins. It's not anything that is known in these parts, But a large store about 50 miles from here had some. I bought about 5 lbs, and really "pigged out" (for lack of a better term) that night. I have the rest in meal sized packages in the freezer. I use them as a 'reward' for myself when I accomplish something I've been dreading doing! "I don't get it. Fish is fish. I WANT it to taste like fish. I don't want it to taste like beef, chicken, or anything else. " I agree with that 100%, too. I like to 'eat healthy', and I try to most of the time. But I am not willing to torture myself with food I don't like. If I were intent on giving up red meats, I would try to find something that I enjoyed To replace it with. As many have mentioned above, There are a number of very mild tasting fish. Preparing/serving them with a highly seasoned sauce might do the job for you. Good luck in your quest. Rusty
