Thanks for all the advice. I bought my now melted DW from Sears and it is only 4 months old, so they are going to replace it but I will have to stick with what they carry. I have to wait 'til Sat for the service tech, but I went to the store and my measured my current DW @ 34 1/2 and the Bosch which was right on 33 7/8. I am not sure how they got the GE in there, but the Bosch is definitely smaller. I was looking at the DW drawers, but I only have a choice between KA and Kenmore and I am not sure I would be happy with either of those. Would everyone please say a small prayer for my cabinetry and granite and we'll see what happens Saturday :) - Judy

I have an update and would love to get some feedback before I order the final accessories. (Demo begins one week from today!) I got a quote for replacing the vanity with white cabinetry complete with a sitting area, plus hardwiring of sconces. The costs all added up to too much for me, so I'm sticking with my vanity and overhead lighting location. I feel great about my choices for tile, bath tub, paint, and fixtures. My worry is that all the little accessory details won't quite work together, diminishing the beauty of the bathroom as a whole. I need to buy the accessories soon; here's what I have in mind. With overhead lighting instead of sconces, I prefer one large mirror. The mirror is by Pottery Barn, a wooden frame with gold gilt, 72" x 36". Perfect size for the space, very very very hard to find. This is technically a floor-length mirror, so I hope it can be mounted horizontally! PB customer service was useless when asked. The lights are also PB, polished nickel. For practical reasons, I ruled out any overhead lights that take type B bulbs (too dim) and have fabric shades (too hard to clean). As a big plus, these are on sale for $170 each. Do they go with the mirror and the rest of the room? Chandelier is PB, 18" diameter, antique brass, UL-listed. This will be over the tub on a dimmer. It was hard to find a chandy that's not too big, ornate, and/or expensive. Knobs and pulls are glass and polished nickel from Restoration Hardware. Towel ring, TP roll, and hook are Ballard Design in polished nickel. Fabric for the roman shade is gray on cream linen. Shower bench is Signature Hardware in teak. I hope this will help tie in the wood of the vanity with the other side of the room. Towel warmer is polished stainless steel (no nickel option) from Signature Hardware. If anything doesn't quite mesh or looks wrong, I would love to hear, as well as any suggestions for alternatives!

I wouldn't say the chairs are "sagging" per se. Isnt the point of springs to provide a little bit of give when you sit? The chairs are very comfortable for the very reason that they arent solid and hard. It seems like they were designed this way. When I sit down I still feel support but the seat conforms to my body nicely and it does not feel like I am sitting on a board. I sink about an inch into the cushion at most. My bf probably sinks 2 inches but he also said that the chairs feel very comfortable. I sink about 2 inches into our couch and at least an inch into our living room chairs. It comparable the dining chairs (I am not sure these chairs were designed as dining chairs specifically - they were acquired second hand!) Either wayway- the height is perfect now and the chairs are very comfortable! : )

I really appreciate the advice. I stopped using the guys once everything appeared to be wrong. Floating vanities were both tilted 1/4 inch per foot. The new LVT had bubbles under it since their “floor leveling” made high spots higher and they didn’t grind it smooth. They also beat the crap out of my brand new, expensive decora cabinets. After being 5 weeks behind schedule with nothing done properly, they were sending the #2 guy on a 2 man crew to caulk around my electrical outlets from 2-3:30pm. I pulled the plug on things then and have been over paying other contractors to redo almost everything. At this point I’m not sure what to do with the original contractor. Despite recommendations, they proved to be incapable. Now I’ve paid them tens of thousands to ruin tens of thousands in supplies. I’ve been focused on getting my home livable during this period but I’m not happy about the added expense after paying them to do a remodel properly.
