Porcelain dolls - specific ones; have to appeal to me.

Have some Harley stuff from the 80's; 1st editions.. plates, ornaments, lunch box, model cars

Hallmark Ornaments and Christmas stuff in general but I don't like red

Right now I'm collecting B Makowsky bags.

Son collects trains & airplanes
Daughter likes build a bears; monkeys.

I collected Sasha Morgenthaler dolls. Most are very shy. Other than the few that live in my library, the rest are in storage. I've designed, made and sold shoes and one of a kind outfits for them on Ebay. I got burned out after awhile and they all started looking like dead children to me. LOL!

Biggest collection is old English pewter;
followed by waaay too many books;
Antiques, but have been very selective with the current economy;
dishes and serving pieces;
cookbooks - love the small jr. league-type and church family recipe plastic bound books;
old family photos - sepia and black and white;
Vintage Red & white Christmas ornaments and Santas;

roselvr - my DMIL collects monkeys (jewelry) - says they are a sign of good luck? Also, she collects skulls (not real) if you can believe it. Pretty unusual when the DGM shows up with a skull and crossbones 18 kt. earrings and matching necklace, she will tell you "but they are elegant skulls", LOL

Mostly curious looks from people who come over and wonder about such decorative accessories as the mannequin hand in a stoneware pitcher on the table, or the "shrine" in the living room made from an old clock, or the Easy Bake Oven in the kitchen, or the dart board behind the front door.

WIP, I have quite a few skulls too, only mine *are* real. I started collecting them back when I was sculpting full time.

My husband collects antique beer cans, mostly from the 30's-40's. The graphics and art are gorgeous.

As for me,

Antique baskets

Too much furniture, mostly hand me downs and thrift/antique store finds

Books (I need more bookshelves baaaad)

Jewelry, especially bracelets and earrings

Clothes that are now too small, so I guess I collect extra pounds too? LOL

I collect a number of things, although none passionately except for original art. While that might sound like a very expensive hobby, it's not really. Living here outside Santa Fe, New Mexico, there's artists and art everywhere . . . and some very reasonably priced.

I collect antique and vintage books, too. Christmas ones and some first editions. I LOVE reading and books. Your new library sounds wonderful, Golddust. I hope you'll show us pics of it someday.

I collect Fruitware and Cottageware. I grew up with it and it still makes me very happy to see and use my pieces.

Although I don't actually "collect" them, I adore aprons and have quite a few that I use pretty much every day. No froufrou or fancy ones, but pretty, practical ones with bib fronts . . . because I can be a messy cook ;^D

moose related items (due to my five brothers fondly giving me that nickname when we were kids. Anything with a moose is brought to my house *sigh*)

Rocks. Lots of rocks. I've been known to haul home 100 pounders!

Vintage purses, preferably in shapes of things. I'm currently carrying around a vintage bucket purse with a sequined rooster on it.

Roosters. But they have to 'speak' to me. People give me chicken/rooster things, but it's not the same as what I specifically pick.

Glass paperweights.

Finials, fleur de lis, and fleur de lis finials.

vintage hardware, door knobs, drawer pulls, hinges, etc.

I also collect weird art and have a small collection of single book ends. How does that happen? One bookend. Well, they come to live with me anyway.

I used to (say 'used to because I have run of of display places) old-fashioned rabbit pictures and statues, porcelain, metal, wood. Not the Easter Bunnies, altho they are cute, but the vintage looking ones. Also, teapots. I still use my teapots for tea parties with the granddaughters. But most are in storage right now.

Dishes, but I am beginning to tire of that unless they are antique.

I would love to collect more Old Paris vases and southern face jugs.
