magothyrivergirl- when you are assigned a name this year you will see if they would like a consumable gift or a gifty gift. Consumables would fat quarters and some kind of cookie or candy, etc. Non- consumable would be fat quarters maybe and a collectible item. For example, I love chickens and sun flowers so I may get 2 fat quarters of sunflower fabric,chicken nick-knack and maybe a potholder. My daughter likes snowman so someone may send her a snowman,maybe some needles, and some green or tan fabric as she likes those colors. Does this explain things better?

I, too, was wondering.
I am used to the RR swaps over on the plant trading side of GW, and we overdo it most months. We usually just specify the box size (IE: medium flat rate box) and stuff that full of plants or other goodies (whatever will fit, and even then some of us- not naming names!- have to sit on the box to get it to close...).
I would've DEFINITELY gone over board if you hadn't specified. :O)

We are talking a $10 limit here (not including shipping.) That's a nice little something for your someone special.

Are all the gifts supposed to be purchased, or may handmade things be included? If something is made from stash fabrics, how do we assess the value? This sounds like so much fun.

mollie_booklover yes, you may make homemade gifts. You can put a "price" on things by looking at esty or ebay or doubling the cost of materials. Things homemade or bought are both fine.

Eighteen or 19 (don't know if meima is still in) Secret Santa swappers so far and one more week to the sign-up deadline. Looking forward to getting by Nov. 4 the name of and info on the person to whom I get to play Santa. I'm ready to start my elves cracking on stuff for her or him. Lots of bazaars with nice craft fairs being held right now. I think I'll need to personally taste test some edible treats as possible gift items as I don't trust this job to the elves.
