Well, I have several types of holly and a threadleaf cypress that I have collected samples of to make some holiday vase decorations.

I haven't decided yet if I will make a wreath of wax myrtle leaves and use the holly branches to add interest or if I am going to purchase a plain evergreen wreath and adorn it with the holly berry sprays.

My window boxes are stuffed with cuttings from Frasier firs that I brought home from work. The magnolia leaves, nandina berries, and holly came from my yard.

I decided this year not to put up the artificial tree. I just threw some lights and cheap glass ornaments on the Ficus that lives in the sunny living room corner until I move it back outside in spring.

Yes. Boxwood, holly, white pine(for pine cones,too), blue spruce, juniper, English Ivy, hydrangea (dried flower heads),Winterberry and sometimes I use privet hedge if the dark berries are still there.

I have used red pine and Canada balsam in the last 2 years, less balsam this year, as the tree is trimmed to my liking now. The pine is gorgeous and lush. The cedar here is dark and not photogenic. I might cut some and spray it gold or silver!!!
Next year will be a challenge, as I need more greens than I think I will be able to cut!!!

nckvilldudes - I know I show know the name brand of that blue pot, but my brain is hurting me - it is Rookwood, or something like that - gorgeous.

Nancy, the blue tall vase is one of several of the Roseville pieces of pottery that I have.

nckville, those are lovely (including the vase!). And token, if I had a sunny enough living room to support a ficus, I would use it as a Christmas tree too. I'm not sure who decided it was a good idea to bring a huge tree into a house. I've always lived in small houses, and it's always a struggle to find a place for one.

For the cuttings, do you stick to something that needs to be trimmed anyway, or do you find it's unnoticeable if you snip a branch here and there to get as much as you need? I don't want to ruin my evergreens!

Bungalow house, I normally find inconspicuous branches that need trimming when I remove the branches. Normally, you can find them quite easily--at least in my garden you can! ;)

I planted three holly bushes. I have moved them often, and so everytime I have seen berries they have been moved. They are now where I want them. I know that they don't like being moved, but they made it. I hope to one year have berries for Christmas arrangement.

Oh, swoon, that's the kind of Roseville vase I keep hoping to run across at some garage sale where the owners haven't a clue what it is.

nckvilledudes , I like the little plaque you have. Kind of reminds me when I walk into my living room, and find the 3 little dogs and 2 cats spraddled out on the couches, and I have to move somebody or find another place to sit.

Holly, ivy (not planted), pyracantha, and the foliage of strawberry tree and pittosporum tobira are used for Christmas indoor decoration. Plus I've planted a Christmas tree in my front garden specifically for this time of the year. During the holidays I decorate its tip with a lighted star. The sweet gum tree next to it also gets a star. Looks very effective when seen from the street. So yes, definitely, I try to have my garden reflect the Christmas time, even in the bits that do not get carried indoors :-)

Pat, have never found a Roseville pottery piece at any garage sales either. I have a collection of about 8 pieces, the first couple of which were obtained from my grandmother's estate. The rest were purchased from various sellers. They are unique and unusual pieces.

Tammy, I know what you mean about the plaque. My two cats rule the roost and know it! LOL

I use blue spruce, winterberry, and rose hips from my garden. But, I'm not doing much decorating or baking this year, because DH is getting carpel tunnel surgery on both wrists.

I use evergreen clippings, red yaupon berries, pine cones and burr oak acorns. Sometimes mistletoe.

I love arrangements of odd pieces of bark, dried toadstools, twisted vines, shells, etc. and keep them scattered around all year. Anything natural and unusual I find attractive.

I also pick up pieces of broken purple and green glass from the old dump site on the family farm my great grandparents began and put the pieces around the base of my birdbath and in a small fountain which is on the back porch.
