Things to do with old spices?

I got to unpack all of my pantry boxes that were put up in April of last year. It feels very weird to do this before Passover, but I needed the boxes to be gone, and the Passover stuff is separate. The remodel was only supposed to take a few months. I threw out a whole carton's worth of oil, nuts, dried fruit, and other things that were obviously rancid or off.

A lot of my herbs and spices seem fine, however. Some, which never keep, are obviously goners, like the garlic powder. Some others need a good sniff.

Is there anything to do with a whole bottle of clumped, aged, garlic powder? And other old spices?

I usually use aging spices for casual cooking (rather than measured) where it doesn't matter if they're not as strong since it's to taste. And that's not after a year in a carton.

It seems a shame to throw it all out though, if it can be used. Rancid nuts, no, but does anyone have any good ideas for dying herbs and spices?
