Thank you all, my dear, dear friends. Yesterday we had one of those days here at our house -- no water for 36 hours, Freya sneaking a pizza off the kitchen counter, and the smell of fresh polyurethane pervading the cold, damp house.... On the other hand, I had the loving affection of Tom and my DS Jacob, calls and cards from family, and greetings from all of you. And tonight we're going out to dinner to try celebrate again. Carla, Luanne, Jon, Anita, Lori, Ingrid, Sue, Carolina, Pamela, and Carol -- each one of your messages brought smiles and memories to my mind. I just realized that with the exception of Ingrid, I know each one of you in the Real World (as opposed to online) -- Ingrid, we'll just have to correct that soon. Thanks for the birthday wishes. It's a beautiful day in San Antonio, where I'm spending the week with the grandchildren (and their parents). Went to the movies yesterday with them and saw Gnomeo and Juliet, kids loved it and it has enough references to the 50's to make it fun for us leading edge baby boomers. Today we went up to San Marcos to the nature center in Texas State Univ and took the glass bottom boat ride - the kids liked that too, then to the outlets for lunch and a bit of shopping! Perfect day.

Thanks you all, your birthday wishes mean a lot. I've reached the age to begin counting backwards, pretty soon I'll be as old as my younger sister! I'll be doing dinner with the kids here in Baltimore this week. They do take good care of me. Went to work, today, as usual. I'm saving my vacation so I can take time off when my SIL is back from Iraq for a week at the end of March. My DD and the grandchildren will fly up from Texas that week. Spring should be here and the cherry blossoms will be in bloom. It should be a nice week.

Thanks so much you all. The flowers are lovely.

I think I'm going to have a nice day. Brunch with my son and his girlfriend (she's a keeper), then dinner with my sisters. I don't have to make anything today, except my morning cup of coffee.

The sun is out, though it's cold here (but I'll be in Texas next month after my second grandchild is born, so I'll get plenty of spring down there.)

The kids and I were going to go bowling tonight at a fancy bowling alley in Baltimore (Mustang Alley's Bar, Bowling and Bistro), but couldn't get reservations this weekend. We are all going in a couple of weeks, for an evening of silliness and, apparently, very good food.
