Thank you so so much! Y'all are the best! I ate all weekend long. I had to get rid of the leftover (because it is sacrilegious to have it!) hollandaise and so I had an artichoke. I also had to get rid of the leftover bacon and BBQ sauce, so I had barbequed prawns. You know how it is. Then, mommy didn't feel like make the yearly pie, so I made it. Oatmeal crust chocolate meringue pie! That was Saturday. Yesterday, I was ill. To the point of, I refused to touch any doorknobs or people. I even had a fever, which rarely happens. But I still ate the fried chicken, beans, hashbrowns, beans, and deviled eggs. We had an oreo ice cream cake. Mmmm. Mommy sent me home with her soup and that was good to eat and rest. I feel better today and so it's the meal out with the LF. He'll be looking sharp and using his good manners, so it'll be nice. Tomorrow is a glass of wine with a friend whose birthday is today! Unending food, so you know it's fun!

Thank you all for thinking of me! No one made me a cake. Mom usually makes me a chocolate meringue pie and I made it this year. She had surgery and isn't back up to snuff yet. Soon. The boy bought me a slice of chocolate ganache cake at the bakery after we walked to lunch, on the way back. Does that count? He wanted to buy the whole thing, but I just knew we'd eat it all! :)

Thanks for all the birthday wishes! It was a fabulous day in the end. Really close friends who moved 3.5 hours away last summer came up and then there was a small catered surprise party. I figured out the surprise shortly before the part but it was still fabulous. DH chose food really well even given my food snobbery and I did not have to plan or clean a thing. When we got home Dh told me our friend was going to stay at our house with her 3 children, my 2 children and her dog while we went and stayed in their condo at a ski resort. The weather was gorgeous and even though I don't ski it was the best. We just enjoyed each other. Annie, the chicken mortality was completely out fault as we did not close up their run one night and a hungry, we think fox, had a feast. The boys learned about the food chain a little better and the parents learned not to be so stupid and trusting. A fox in the city, who knew? That weekend we went to a local Easter egg thing and the boys told the person in a chicken suit to watch out for foxes. -Robin

It was full of kind wishes from great friends, including y'all! I lolled about and played, doing nothing until dinner. I did go outside and listen to the birds singing, which was nice. I drove the Miata which stays covered up and sitting still for now. I am old enough now, that I feel entitled to an entire week of celebrating! So I do. Sunday was lunch with just my mom. Yesterday was just my son. Friday, a friend is coming in from out of town. this upcoming Sunday is all my family. Next Monday is lunch with a friend whose birthday is today. The best part is notes from dear friends and remembrances of past birthdays. You're too kind!

Thank you all so much! Very kind of you. Yes, I was celebrating and will be celebrating. Just got a chocolate cupcake with cream cheese frosting. It's not too early for cake is it?! HA! I kill myself.
