Believe it or not, decent looking ceiling fans exist. On every design show I've ever seen they're the first things to be thrown out, but I have them in every bedroom. Mmm slight draft at night without the sound of floor fan... I pspent no fewer than 18 weeks looking (off and on) for a "pretty" one to go in my master. I have lived with a 4 poster bed. My experience - unless you have really high ceilings, and I'm talking like 10 ft, and a sizeable room, it will turn your space into... tiny. Once upon a time in a previous life I thought I had a big bedroom until I put a poster bed in there. I like your computer nook. I always wanted a space like that, which I could separate from the rest of the room with some romantic drapery tied back. I might force that idea on my formal dining room. :) beds/headboards coverin ga window do bother me. I don't like anything to cover a window (couch, table, or otherwise) -- but that's just me. And if it came down to a queen bed, or covering that window, sure - the window would get covered! We have single panels on our two bedroom windows, mostly because they're skinny and it looked silly to me to have two panels. If you need to cover the window, something that seems to help (at least when I've seen it done) is to pull the bed away from the wall a foot or so. Then you can go with two panels, and it looks kind of intentional instead of "didn't have space." Something else to keep in mind with blocking windows -- does the sun come directly in such that it would fade your bedding over time?

Oh goodness, if you don't need the dressers, get rid of them, because to you they're just useless clutter and very large clutter at that! It seems to be all the rage to have all your clothing storage in massive closets with built-in drawers and no freestanding dressers at all, especially where the other furniture you've chosen is very sleek and modern in feel it makes sense to continue to streamline the room further. If you were on the other end of the spectrum, with Victorian antiques and a higher "fuss factor", it might be more likely to look like something is missing if you didn't have a dresser. My thought for the wall is a scattering of small, unframed (but perhaps beveled), simple round mirrors, just for some sparkle but not big enough to actually reflect anything you don't want reflected - if ya know what I mean. ;-) You can get the mirrors inexpensively at a crafts store or through eBay. Say, a mixture of 2", 3", and 4" ones. Think stars in the night sky, or moonlight rippling on the water, not disco ball. ;-) A little sparkle, a little roundness, but still keeping that clean, modern feel. If I may make an unsolicited suggestion (my feelings will not be hurt one bit if you tell me to stuff it where the sun don't shine :-)) the countryish white chair in the corner is throwing me off a little bit - it's kind of like you have the "black modern side of the room" and the "white traditional side of the room". Is there any way that the white chair could be switched for a black one, maybe a little severer in style (to riff off that great bed), or that one painted black if it can't be changed out? Since you're an Ikea shopper, I think there are a couple of chairs on their website that would echo the lines of that pretty bed really well: Roger (recover the seat in blue - perfect! this one's my favorite), Stefan, maybe Norvald. The room is coming together into a really snazzy one, though!

Another vote for elfa. Go ahead and take out the rod and shelf. You can reuse the shelf with the elfa. Then you can arrange shelving, hanging, and drawers however you like. If you really do want to keep the rod and shelf, you can install elfa below it, and place the drawers where you want. Or, as mentioned above, the freestanding drawers can set on the floor below the clothes. They come in different widths. tip: plan it out now, take it to the Container Store to have them flesh it out for you (or do it online) and WAIT until New Years to buy it when it goes on sale for 30% off. and Shades-of-Idaho, lovin' the old suitcases all painted white. Looks great!

Even tho you have posted in the wrong place, people always try to help with your dilemma. I would suggest you take a drawer with you in your search for replacement parts. Have you contacted the mfg to see if they have replacement parts (if they are still in business)?
