baked apple

I want to bake a apple to go with a pork roast for dinner tonight. I'm thinking I just core it, cut it in half (a whole apple is too much for 1 person), and put a few dots of butter on it and sprinkle it with cinnamon sugar. Does this sound right? Do I need to set it in a pan with a little water? My pork recipe calls for a 375 degree oven and I'd like to bake the apple in the same oven. How long should I bake it?
I hope this question isn't too stupid but I've never baked a apple before.
Thanks.
Teri
