Arrrgh - Bad Chicken, Two Hours Before Dinner

John Liu

Cr-p. I'm making a Chinese New Year dinner, and after frying up and nibbling on trimmings from the chicken breast, I suspect the meat is bad. Kind of a sour taste. I'm waiting to see if I feel any ill effects - naturally I feel queasy but that is just pyschosomatic, it is too soon - , but to be cautious I'm throwing out everything I've made w/ that chicken - fillings for shao mai, sliced breast for panko crusted deep frying, diced and marinated chicken for sticky rice balls - and starting over. Two hours to guests and I didn't need this. I think I still have time, but the egg rolls may go by the wayside. Don't want a nervous breakdown on top of whatever tummy effects await me.
