I usually have a french manicure, but occasionally go with a red color. My toenails are always red. Pretty boring, but it's in my comfort zone.

I have a deep purple right now; I was white for a long time. Blue before that, alternating with deep grey at times.
Red or Pink don't look good on me. I tried a deep pink around Valentine's day and even DH commented negatively on it.

It's been a few years that colors have been on the market.

fingernails are usually a sheer pink. Toenails are anything under the sun. Right now they are neon pink.

French finger and toe nails, too. Pretty much always. The only other colors I occasionally wear are pale pink and a deep rose. I guess I'm just very traditional.

My fingernails are usually something clear or pinkish but only lately have I felt wild with pedicures. I know they've been out for years but it seems only this past year have I seen women my age wearing them- but I am in the sticks.

I think it was maybe a year or so ago when I read Pioneer Woman on new nail polish colors and felt like trying something new.

98% of the time I paint mine french. My hands aren't very attractive and I feel that growing the nail out and keeping them the white/pink gives the most clean look. I DO like deep color polishes (black, deep purple) for nails and do occasionally wear it, but it doesn't look really look good on my hands.

My piggers are usually pink or red but I only paint them in the spring and summer.

I see alot of blue polish (lightish blue), but am not too fond of the trend.

I like a french manicure best. It's neat, classic and goes with everything. I like french on the toes too sometimes, but most often a hot pink color. My toes are always polished - year round. Hubby loves it for some reason. I wear sandles/mules/slides for as long as I can.

My fingernails are rarely polished. I'm into too many projects, etc. They are always neat and groomed and occasionally a french manicure.

Oh - I have done black on my toes - that's as wild as I've gotten LOL.

When the economy turned sour, I gave up manicures and pedicures to save money. These days, I just keep my nails trimmed and shaped with no polish.

Nope, haven't been able to jump on that bandwagon:) Pinks for me; they look best w/my skin tone and the colors I tend to wear.

I don't wear nail polish (my fingernails never grow that well), but I think the colors are fun for a casual look. I don't see black or any really dark color, including red, as appropriate for a business setting.

I personally find painted toenails icky, no matter what color they are. Most people have unattractive feet - I have no desire to see them in sandals, and even less desire to see them with painted nails.

None. Manicures just don't last on me. I may get one before I travel where I won't be on a computer or doing things around the house.

I used to love pedicures, but I got an infection in my big toe nailbed that took a long time to get rid of and required a visit to a podiatrist, so I've been reluctant ever since.

No, I have not embraced the blacks, browns, greens and blues. I painted my nails blue when I was a kid and my dad a doctor, said they were the same color as the corpses in the morgue. That did it for me.

Today my fingers are Suburban Dirt -- straight from working in the yard. My toes are coral -- OPI's Your Villa or Mine. Each big toe has a hole in the polish. I painted my toes and went to an event wearing open toes shoes. The polish wasn't quite hard enough and the shoes wore little holes into the polish on the big toes.

Dedtired, sounds like something I'd do. When the toes get polished it's always a list minute thought.

Don't ever polish my fingernails. I'd have to wear gloves every time I walked outdoors and that's not going to happen. My nails grow fast; it's all I can do to keep them clipped.

My toes are turquoise blue for the moment. Before that a deep purple. I have a navy-black that is my fave! The only time my toes aren't painted are in the winter, but only maybe for a couple of weeks.

I think it's weird to see toes that aren't painted now. To be honest it's so unusual around where I live, that if someone doesn't have painted toes, it is not the norm and I notice their feet more.

Have you seen the 5 different colors mani? It seems to be done with neon colors mostly. Surprisingly, the only person I've noticed with it was a woman in her 50's and she was rocking it. Until I saw her, I would have assumed it was for teens and twenties.

I don't do polish on any of my nails. I can't stand the feeling of it.

Pm the rare occasion I get a mani, I tend to choose a deep red or browinsh color. I want drama! But I can't get on the blue/green/black trend. Just doesn't appeal to me.

I was at a meeting with a gal who had a translucent green on her toes...honest;y, it looked as if someone had spit on her feet. It was kind of distracting. But for my toes, I'd probably go for a navy blue. Usually stick to orange or fire engine red. I'm over due for a pedi, so I might go do that soon. Rarely paint my nails because they grow too fast and polish never, ever lasts. I just trim up my ridiculous cuticles and file to shape them. I hate it when one breaks since I don't have the heart to cut off the rest to match.

I admit I do not care for anything on nails other than one color unless it's a french polish. That look of crazed or striped (or anything patterned, embellished, etc...) is too young for anyone over the age of eight, imo.
But if you have 27 piercings too, it might work, being consistent with a certain style!

I got a dark orange color at the nail salon on Fridsy. I felt so outrageous -- usually I go pretty neutral -- and I have to say, I kept glancing at my hands all weekend admiring them! I need to go bold more often. Next time I want to try a grayed lavender color by Essie...can't remember the name.

A few years ago OPI had nail polish colors to coincide with Ford Mustang paint colors! They came with the Mustang emblem on the bottle. Of course, I had the two reds (a bright red and more candy apple color) and the silver. :)

My sister's had a beautiful midnight blue, and I really liked it on her.

I may have to cave and find somewhere through a good referral.

I usually don't do my fingernails because my hands just get into too much. I do like to do my toenails, though. Right now they are naked, but my favorite polish is a pearlized light lavender. I noticed it on a lady on a dive trip years ago and liked the way it looked. I used a pale gold at Mom's and might have to try and find some of my own. The pearlized seem to hold up better for me.

My hands are never, ever polished. It is far too much maintenance for my life. I do my toes though. I loved a blue I once saw when speeding through Wal-Mart but could not stomach paying the $6 for the bottle, bought a cheaper polish but the blue was not what I had in mind. Right now they are pink. A friend had a glittery silver on that I may try soon. I do not mind getting a little wild with color on my toes but even if I could maintain it, never would on my hands.

My nails are ever, ever polished either. That said, I do get pedicures in summer. It's strictly French for me. I know, I am out of it fashion wise. My focus is generally on other things. My hands are farm hands. Big and masculine. Nothing I can do to change my heritage.

But I try in other areas. My clothes are a good example. I try to wear nice clothes. I'm also a fan of vintage aprons. I have enough to coordinate with most of my outfits. I can even be seen in my aprons at grocery stores, seldomly.

When my fingernails aren't spattered with Benjamin Moore paint, they're coated with a clear topcoat or sheer pink. I tried the dark, dark almost-black polish a few years ago and felt like Herman Munster.

I like the navy and other dark colors. Green is tricky--it can look sickish if the skin tone/polish combo isn't right. But my coworker has a really nice green--reminds me of expensive cars--that looks great on her.

I would wear dark reddish brown or navy every day if I wasn't so hard on my nails gardening, etc. So I mainly do them for special occasions and when I do, it's dark red, dark purply brown, or navy.

I am too pale for black to look like anything other than "goth" but the head of our department always had a great tan,black hair and she always wore black nails and somehow it always just looked polished and formal and not at all goth.

I just can't get there...

I saw a great turquoise on a woman the other day that exactly matched her turquoise jewelry. The color was bright and spring-like, but not neon. So I thought I'd give it a try... NOPE! Only got as far as my thumbnail. Hated it right off the bat -- even though it's my favorite color in the world. Gave it a few hours to see if I could embrace it. NOPE!

I'm firmly a pink-coral-red girl, solid colors, no frosts, with occasional dips into beige and lilac for 'something wild'.

Don't know what it is about my hands, but I can stretch a manicure for two weeks nearly chip-free, and my nails rarely break. Just lucky that way ;-)

I can't stand polish on my fingernails - I can "feel" it, plus I can't go 8 hours without them chipping.

Love red and coral on toenails! I think I have ugly feet, but they look a little perkier with bright polish. I have seen very few feet that look prettier with blues and greens - those colors (to me) make the feet look uglier. Absolutely cannot stand black toenails.

This thread inspired me, so tonight I went and got a pedi, and chose navy blue with a sparkly finish. Fun! But my DH doesn't like it. oh well, it's MY tootsies!

One of my big toenails is perpetually black due to a running injury. Believe me, you'd thank me for wearing polish to cover that hideous beastie up! ;-D

Haha, I have had the same issue, Sunny, from perennially dropping furniture on my bare feet. This usually happens in winter - when I move stuff around- and gives a yucky toenail right in time for spring.It generally grows out by the end of sandal season.
So nail polish is necessary!

um depends on which color of paint I am using at the time. usually duck blue or a french linen color. LOL

my finger nails grow long only in the late spring and summer (and i guess into the fall!)... so i will occasionally paint them in the summer--i would prefer my nails to be long and lovely and painted in the winter!
but, when i do paint them i only use clear or some subtle shade...i find darker/brighter color on my fingers to be very jarring and distracting-sortof like dark/bright lipstick (on me).
once summer arrives i will paint my toenails- mainly because 'it is the thing to do' ... after a few days, i get used to seeing them painted! i only use shades of pink, red, nude or coral.

i wouldn't use blue, black or green- would make me feel self conscious... i view those as colors for the young and i think look abit 'inappropriate' on older women-like they're trying too hard... take that for what it's worth--my opinion only!!
