my front door and side casings are white - but my trim is medium oak stain and I like the difference between the two of them together.

I had a house once, front loading garage, where the builder painted the garage doors the same as the siding. Bone white. It was okay. A bit boring. Our trim was like yours, the black/brown or bronze color. After a couple years I painted the garage doors that color. I thought it looked good at first. But it was a lot of dark. Time to sell; our realtor brought out a decorator to help us get the house ready. She chose a medium tone from the brick that we had by the front door and half across the garage. I was sceptical but it was a really good color. You have brick. I can't really tell the color from your photo. Our designers idea might work for you.

I know you did not ask, but the scale and proportion of the entry just does not work and looks completely out of place on the house. Suggest you reconsider that part of the plan and work with your designer to come up with something more in keeping with the size of the house. As for the garage door, can't imagine wood being less expensive than metal, but I'd choose metal for its low maintenance and paint it to match the house.

Cheryl, I think the word that you were looking for is canted. Angled would also be understood too. I'm generally in favor of having garage doors match the color of the house, unless they are on their own elevation and can be treated as a focal point of that facade. Where they are visible along with the front door they should not be focus pulling, especially when they are much larger than the front door. For the same reason I would typically discourage white garage doors. They tend to be just as focus pulling and distracting. But in the case where your siding color appears to be very light, you may be able to get away with it.
