Annie, I know we cannot do that style. But I do love it - love the double doors & curve! They go perfectly with your home! We will consider wood. The house is in Florida, about 5 miles from the ocean. The house faces south, so I am not concerned about the sun beating on the doors. We went to the door lumberyard yesterday, & they seemed to think a wood door would work fine at our location & would not need maintenance too often, as long as it was painted/stained & sealed properly. DH is really struggling with glass & privacy. I don't want a frosted glass & he wants some glass but total privacy. The house will be set pretty far back on the lot, so I am not worried about privacy too much. I am one that could walk naked down the street with no issues, but he wouldn't walk around the house in boxers if there was non-privacy glass in the front. I played in PS again. Any thoughts on any of these door styles? The first one has some curves in the moulding, so that could introduce the cove ceiling element from the foyer. My favorite is #2, but that offers the least amount of privacy for DH. #3 might be a compromise for DH. #4 is too Craftsmen, but that is what he was originally drawn to. Kiwi I'll share a pic of our new garage doors. Our windows are also black and I had originally wanted stained garage doors but found these instead. Martin pinnacle line they function beautifully. Just installed last month. I am staining my fiberglass doors. I did the front doors and used Zar stain in moorish teak but went over it with Cetol finish that had an oak stain. So far everyone has had positive comments on the black doors. We still are under construction with gravel and dirt everywhere and other than the bird poop don't collect much dirt...

Uugh @Virgil Carter Fine Art! Truly my struggle. The home was designed more then 8 years ago, and since then, many of my design ideas have changed. Yes, an architect designed the house. They were terrific and worked with both my husband and I, we obviously have differing focuses. the house calls for exterior shingles, but no color is specified, No exact front door model, garage doors, etc. And even if those things had been selected 8 years ago, I am certain I would have changed my mind anyway. lol a blessing and a curse.... I suppose I can go back to the architect for guidance, for every single choice. And it seems that must be where I am headed... Thanks. and Happy New Year!

#3. All brick with siding under porch. Get rid of faux stone accents on corners at foundation. Do not pay extra for those. They are awful. If you have to have stone, only do it along the base of the foundation. Paint the garage doors as close to the color of the brick that you select to remove emphasis of huge garage doors. There is no hiding them, but you don't want them to be the focal point. Why #3? It has the most simple elevation and avoids most of the McMansion from Hell elements. That's why. If it were me, I'd do all brick. Then, I'd paint the brick and garage door the same color.
