My BD Was Yesterday,I Got A Special Cake

Iwas called Better Than Sex cake hummmIt wasnt anything special ,pineapple,whipped creme,pudding cake??/anyway it was nice hubby is away on golfing trip.anybody try it yet?

The BTS cake I tried was chocolate and it wasn't anything special either.

Relatively speaking, opinions might vary on that, Bulldinkie.LOL Or would that be comparatively speaking? I always get that sort of thing mixed up. Or maybe it's a matter of opinion. Smile.

We used to be served a version of this in school. It was our favorite day, next to the hamburger pizza day. :) This is a real comfort food, and kids really love it. JOHNNY MARZETTI CASSEROLE 2 T butter or margarine 1/2 C diced celery 1/2 C diced green pepper 1/2 lb sliced mushrooms 2 lg. onion, chopped 1 t minced garlic 1 lb. ground beef 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce 1 t salt 1 t pepper 8 oz cheddar cheese 8 oz macaroni Melt butter over med heat, add celery, green pepper, mushrooms, garlic and onion. Cook until vegs are soft, about 10 minutes. Add beef, cook until no longer pink. Stir in tomato sauce, s & p. Bring to simmer, then stir in cooked macaroni and cheese. Put in 13 x 9 pan. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Sear ground beef and onion in skillet. Add tomatoes and tomato juice; cook over low heat. Add soup; continue cooking 20 minutes. Add salt, hot sauce, Worcestershire, cheese and noodles. Cook until well blended; serve. Noodles may be added uncooked by using 1 quart each tomatoes and tomato juice. I think if the grandparents were only invited the week before, then likely the party is just an impromptu occaision to get together and enjoy the new baby. In this case I think it would be foolish to give up a vacation with plane tickets bought and paid for, but certainly not worth getting miffed about either. So it didn't work out for the grandparents this time; they can stop in for a visit as soon as they get back. Even better, they can invite the young family to their home for dinner and a visit; being parents of a young child can be exhausting and they'd probably welcome the opportunity for a relaxing visit with family. I appreciate all the kind wishes and hope to be celebrating more years in the future. One of the residents here at the retirement community where I live celebrated her 100th birthday on June 11th. Several of my friends here are 90 and above. The younger retirees here look like youngsters! My birthday fest was great, in spite of a down pour as we were finishing up. You can see my family does not do 'fancy.' We were gathered under a huge patio umbrella in the backyard, with paper cups and plates, where we enjoyed a scrumptious picnic dinner (none of which I had to prepare.) The two well trained dogs came to say hello, and then went off to nap. Even one of the ferrets poked his head out for a minute. The cat stayed in the house. Patti, yes it has been a while since I posted any pics of her cakes and cup cakes. My 6 year old PC went into a decline several months ago, and Photobucket was making a lot of changes and I gave up trying to get anything to work. Now I have a new PC, WIN7, and still trying to get it 'trained.' She has added brownies, creme puffs and gluten free cupcakes to the menu, and still does some weddings. I know that but it's no fun to see her drag her kids into it. I'd love to grab her, shake her or pound her head against a wall and yell "look what you are doing to your kids!!" " Don't you care????" and I know that I can't. Her relationship with her kids is her business but it doesn't make it any easier to watch. If she had called me, that's one thing. But, she involves SD by asking me through her daughter and she does that a lot. She's also got SD very excited about the wedding and SD brings it up frequently. I could be wrong, but I believe she has created a fantasy in SD's mind that everything will be wonderful when she marries BF... they'll be a family & she can go live there with them, etc. but that isn't going to happen. The craziest part of all, she HATES when SD and I get along. (more insecurity about that) but the more she ignores SD, as time goes on, SD turns to me more & more. I not only spend more time with SD, but I talk to her, I listen to her and even though she has an attitude with me, she knows she can count on me when she needs me. As she is realizing that, she has less attitude with me and we are actually becoming closer because of the way BM treats her. That only upsets BM even more, but instead of giving SD more attention, she has chosen to give less time & attention. It's really sad all the way around. I've also noticed other things she does to mimic our (DH & me) life. We ride ATV's, she went out & bought new ATV's for everyone last Christmas. We went to San Francisco for a weekend, she was going to do the same. We have an SUV, she went out and bought an SUV as soon as she moved there, even though her BF has a mini van that would accommodate all of them. She already had a new truck that her mom repossessed a few weeks ago. We've gone on a few cruises & now she's talked of wanting to take a family cruise. It's really humorous at times. She has no job, her BF's motorcycle & his kids dirt bikes were repossessed, her mom took back the truck she signed for because BM wasn't making the payments, they are about to be evicted & she can't or won't pay the $216 a month in support or any of the medical bills, but she is planning a grand wedding & all these trips. I think it's all in her head & she wants to create an illusion that she has a perfectly wonderful life. I'm not sure if she sees reality slapping her in the face... or if she just pretends it isn't happening. It will go away?

Happy belated birthday!! I haven't had the pineapple cake, but I do love pineapple with cake and whipped cream. I got my BD cake on your birthday, and it was chocolate with chocolate mousse filling. It was a tiny bit dry, and so I drizzled a bit of Frangelico on the cake part. Your cake sounds perfectly delightful! What else did you do for your birthday?

My hubby bought me a chochlate diamond ring,its gorgeous.Its a big choch.diamond in the middle oval with alot of smaller choch & clear diamonds all around it,rose gold,I have to wait 4-6 weeks for sizing????odd I said I want it this bd not next years.

Happy (belated) Birthday, Bulldinkie. That cake is famous in my town. We have an annual wine tasting and auction for my library. Not sure if it's the name, or the fact that it's donated by a great person (who donates one to every fundraiser), or the fact that everyone is tiddled on wine, but one year The Cake went for $250, was donated back and re-auctioned for another $250. Needless to say we ask for The Cake every year.

MBoston,ty for letting me know about dotmom,no I wont be back to KT Way TOO MUCH DRAMA FOR ME I dont need it right now Im just trying to survive with dialysis & all,Everytime you post theres a few that jump you no matter what you say or these people that take over a forum who looks up every question you ask to be first to answer.what,..no no.and argue what you say..I dont have time to sit and look up answers Im just answering by my experience.Done.Sorry,not feelin well today,

The ring sounds amazing! :)

I like that cake. (The version called "Sex in a Pan.") And made the chocolate version in a heart shaped casserole dish a year or two ago for a friend as a joke. I used all chocolate pudding, though. And topped it with dark chocolate curls.

I am almost certain I found the same recipe renamed as "Preacher's Wife's Cake" in another cookbook. ;)
