Furniture products made in America are much higher quality and you should expect them to last longer than the same looking products made off shore (China). chickory_flower: If budget is a concern then I think you can do well with Craigslist looking for a futon. I would recommend a wood frame, though, and perhaps buy a new mattress for it or if you can sew, you could make a new cover. The ones I had were cheapo metal--bought for just that purpose and I think that is why it was so uncomfortable as the metal bar poked through just like what happens with some sofabeds. I've noticed the wood futon frames have slats which may work better. The issue I think is because the mattress has to bend over there are no springs it it and so it tends to feel lumpy. Perhaps having an extra layer of the egg crate foam might help. teeda: The aeorbed twin is like having a sleeping bag. We were a group of 10 (2 families) traveling together. Then I would ask the hotel for extra sheets. My DS is the odd person out as the two girls can share a double bed and my DH and I the other. I like the flexibility of having a twin as it's easier to find an open spot to put it down. I'd rather have 2 twins than a double/queen. It comes attached with a plug in air pump that you use to inflate/deflate. It deflates very quickly, then you just fold lengthwise in thirds and roll up like a sleeping bag and then put in the little carrying case it comes with. Very quick and easy. I think it would be nice to have for slumber parties as well if you have kids. Then you can just set up an extra bed in your child's room for her friend. mustangs: The way it works is that you have a standard 3-4" thick sofa bed mattress adn attached to that is the air bed part. It comes with a pump which you plug in and inflate so that mattress then becomes a full 7-8" thick so you can fit standard sheets on it. While I didn't spend the night on it, I did lay down on it and it is very comfortable--like an aerobed raised up to bed height. The only thing is you have the added task to inflate/deflate daily. Reason I've not used it is because we don't have a rug in the living room and so opening/closing daily is a hassle. For some odd reason my DH's family prefers to sleep on the floor.

We bought an Omnia sectional about a year and half ago, and I'd say we are less than impressed. The leather is nice, but the cushions on the back are already getting saggy, and require "fluffing." The velcro to hold our loose cushions is so loud we had to put fabric over the velcro so that they don't make noise every time someone shifts (defeating the point of the velcro). The frame has been squeaky since they day we got it and we are still working to see if this can be resolved. The leather at the top/back of the back cushions does not go down far enough so that the backing fabric can be seen from the rear of the couch, our couch floats in the the great room so this is less than ideal. At this point I kinda wish Omnia or the dealer would just take it back. So while their warranty may appear great when issues arise be prepared for a long process to get things resolved (hopefully). The details of this couch leave a bit to be desired.

I have too many leather pieces..because it's too functional..so the plan is to start switching it for something at some point...:) Dislike when stuff is the same. Also, mad about velvet. But. I'm looking right now at two leather chairs my ex husband just gave me back, several years after they stayed at his place (his wife hates them, and I don't lol- they're also smallish and great footprint for our new living)-they're by Natuzzi, real Natuzzi and not their cheaper Italsofa line they sell in Macy's..and they are 17 years old..and now I'd say they at last really need reupholstering..but probably just the handles and the pillows..we'll see. and the color is off-white(yeah I bought them in off white when having a toddler and a baby..so they saw a lot, these poor chairs))..clean them professionally from time to time if they get abused too much, and they'll look like new again. Natuzzi gives you special leather care kit, but in several years, after markers and dysentery, in no particular order, you want to invite somebody who does professional cleaning. Silly me learned about this option too late..we had a sofa as well, and I cleaned it so hard I made a hole in it, after 5 years or so..)) This Natuzzi brand, they know their stuff(or knew, back in those days)..they have several levels of sturdiness, and great explanations about them, and it's custom made to your specs and colors, and it takes 3 months from order to delivery-but exactly three. A lot-but they're true to what they promise.
