Qustion regarding bourbon sauce

I have this recipe for a sauce to go over bread pudding. Trying to figure out way to remove some of the alcohol

I was thinking I could heat the bourbon in separate pan and then let it cool. What do you think? Will it change the flavor to much?

here is the recipe

Bourbon Sauce:

4 ounces butter

1 cup sugar

1 egg slightly beaten

1 1/2 ounces bourbon

4 ounces pecans

cream the butter with sugar and cook the mixture in a double boiler until it is dissolved. Add the beaten egg and whip rapidly. Let the sauce cool and add the bourbon. When completely cool add pecans
