Hickory King corn
Comments (7)I have been finding lately, to get a mature ear, one must wait on browning of the shuck to grab an ear that is full. I think it might be the lack of rainfall or watering. A friends Dad grew it and the kernels are super large but I can`t seem to get that kind of result. I have tried it the last 2 years. His Dad said you only have 4 or 5 days to get it in at maturity. The kernels on my ears look shriveled. Even when gathering a week after silk browning. ( Lack of water I am guessing? ) I think I am doing something wrong. This stuff is beating me down like a bad mule! LOL!...See MoreSmith Bros of Berne vs King Hickory Sofas
Comments (7)King Hickory may have the fabric you like but after one day you might not like it so much. We picked out a gorgeous herringbone chenille that looked way too good to be in their standard price. Sit or lean on it once and it was ruined. Sofa looks 20 years old and we bought it about 2 years ago. No kids or dogs, either. I wish I would have gone with the Smith Bros. I had one years back and it was wonderful. There used to be a poster here would talked about a fabric's "rub count" (I think). Try Googling that and it will give you a test to do so you can find out how good the fabric is. Good luck!...See MoreKing Hickory???
Comments (28)Everyone should ask their local Furniture store for a better price. Most retailers WILL change the price when you tell them you found it somewhere else for less. Not to mention if you have a warranty claim you aren’t waiting for someone across the country to come to you. And best of all you support your local economy! There is nothing I hate more than uninformed people giving an opinion when really none of the comments about ordering from another state to get the best price are true! Brick and mortar stores will work with you on price they know they have to compete with people falling for the garbage they find on Wayfair. King hickory is Furniture that will last but that doesn’t mean you need to pay retail to get it. All you have to do is ask your local retailer what the best price is, and tell them you found it somewhere else for less online. Unless they are a huge chain most smaller retailers will discount the items to at least match the pricing. Sorry I to rant a little but the start of this conversation was super frustrating and extremely inaccurate. It is that kind of mentality that will put Brick and Mortar stores out of business so you will have no place to go and take pictures of tags and model numbers off the pieces OR actually sit in the model!!! I agree with most of the other comments about king Hickory being beautifully built and extremely comfortable. TY...See MoreKing Hickory vs. Marshfield sofas
Comments (2)Both companies make a good product. Marshfield is made by a company located in Wisconsin. They had focused their merchandising on western styled products such as you might find at a hunting lodge or ski lodge in Aspen, Vail or on a very nice ranch but they now have a much broader mix. It is very well built with a drop in coil unit. I am not certain if the frame is hardwood or hardwood plywood. I think it is a mix of both....See MoreK B
