Better to check at hearth.com for owners' evaluations of nearly every wood stove currently manufactured. There are code requirements for the heat resistance and minimum size of the hearth as well as clearances to flammable surfaces. The latter is generally a minimum of 18 inches. These can sometimes be reduced with heat shields of various types, but in the photograph above the stove at least appears to be much too close to a wooden wall. The cost estimate from Dream Home Finishers above seems pretty reasonable. A quality wood stove will run close to $2k. Triple wall chimney pipe plus its accessories, hearth and labor will easily add another $5k. The triple wall chimney is the most expensive item and total cost will depend entirely on how many feet are required.

I had a carpenter do mine, mainly because we used insulated stainless steel pipe and wanted to box it in all the way up the gable end of the house, about 25-30 ft., with a framed wood chimney box covered with matching siding. If you're punching through the roof for a chimney make sure you've got someone who will pay attention to detail and get the penetration sealed well and shingles put back properly so it doesn't leak.

Interesting post on the logistic of adding a small wood burning stove to a 3 season porch. We have a lot of dead and downed wood on our property and we have campfires outside of the porch but I would really LOVE a small wood burner inside the porch to add more time to campfire season, and also more weather options. We hope to turn it into a 4 season room due to wanting to spend time there all year round due to the views and lovely light. I have the perfect spot for a small wood burning stove, but the logistics are up in the air. My screened in porch is very much like yours. There's not only the issue of the walls (which I think could be covered around the stove area with fireproof radiating tiles) but also the issue of the floor support. In our case it is just a wood porch floor, so I'm wondering if it needs a cement base or some type of shoring up of the support of the floor under the stove area . . .
