Anyone have any experience with Ruvati kitchen sink brand?
Comments (17)We bought the kitchen sink and faucet set. Now a year after installing we have a leaky hose near the pull-down sprayer. I removed the hose and took it to Lowe's (where we bought it last year) and Home Depot. Neither could find a replacement hose. I call around a few local plumbing supply stores and they recommended contacting Ruvati company in Texas to get the part number. I had to open a warranty ticket to find out they have no replacement hoses and they do not have any information on parts. Sink, faucets and accessories look good, but with the time I've sunk into trying to find a simple part, I wouldn't recommend anything of theirs. Stay with a company that sells replacement parts for what they sell....See MoreAnyone have experience with hybrid-tankless water heaters?
Comments (8)I recently installed a tankless water heater to get rid of a tank heater that was near its end of life and had issues with placement. The tankless water heater hangs on a wall and is easily accessible. I had some unique requirements. I wanted to be able to run as many things at one time as possible. I live in a ranch style home and with the tank heater, I never had hot water in my master bathroom sink. I did not expect a tankless water heater to change that. I had tried a recirculation system and it did not work because of the layout of my pipes. About 3yrs ago, I purchased point of use heaters for the bathroom sinks so I could have hot water. I had concerns about the tankless but really did not have anywhere to put a tanked system in my home. I bought a Rinnai RUR98i. It is rated at over 9gpm and has a built in recirculation unit. I have never thought I would love a water heater. I set the timer for the recirculation and always have hot water in my master bathroom sink. It takes about 5secs for the shower to get hot. I have been using the tankless water heater for about 1month now. I have not received my gas bill yet so don't really know how much I am saving. My home has three bathrooms and we have run two showers simultaneously with the dishwasher and washer running at the same time. I have not experienced a cold water sandwich as often referred to. I live in cold weather so I will have to see how the unit behaves once the incoming water temperature drops. I already have water saving appliances. My grohe and hangrohe shower heads are 2.5gpm max. My washer heats its own water as needed. I plan to replace my dishwasher soon and will connect the new one to cold water only. My current dishwasher is connected to hot water and does not really need it. The post is long winded but I wanted to let you know that Tankless heaters have come a long way since I started researching them five years ago. Noritz makes some units that go above 10gpm. Good luck with your search....See MoreDoes anyone have any experience with Fabric Plant Pots
Comments (11)I tried them 2 years ago with mixed results. I planted indeterminate tomatoes in 7 gallon fabric pots & these raised beds. Same varieties, same age (raised from seeds), and the same amount of sunshine. I lined the sides of the fabric pots with large garbage bags to help hold in the moisture. The plants in the fabric pots were still hard to keep moist and I don't know if that was the reason they didn't do as well or if it was some other factor. They weren't even half the size of the ones in the raised beds and production was also greatly reduced. On the other hand, I planted eggplants & ground cherries in the 3 & 5 gallons pots and they did fantastic!! The plants were very happy and production was great. I also lined the inside with garbage bags to help with moisture control and they were still hard to keep the dirt moist; but those plants didn't seem to care....See MoreDoes anyone have any experience using made renovations?
Comments (32)To echo all others, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Made filed the wrong plans with our City Building Dept for someone else's bathroom. Now, we have an unpermitted bathroom. I only discovered the permit issue when I saw that Made installed the wrong vanity, wrong tub, wrong toilet, wrong tile, wrong fixtures...the list goes on, in our home. Inconceivable, considering we signed off on written design plans and a product purchase list. Upon discovering Made's incompetence, I asked the contractor to stop construction while we sorted the mess out. The contractor told me that other Made accounts of his were in litigation. Made said the right items were installed in our bathroom, and they completely ignored the issue of the wrong plans being filed. This is absurd, as everything is in writing, there are SKUs on everything, and the incorrect plans are clearly on record with the City. But Made already had our money (they make you pay everything in advance). Their very obvious strategy is to deny and ignore, hoping you'll give up. So, we hired an attorney to help us elevate our complaints. Again, Made denied and ignored. Thankfully, there is an arbitration clause in the contract we signed. We are very confident that we will prevail when a third party arbitrator is involved. But it's very clear (look at Glassdoor or anywhere else online) that Made will go out of business, and it's just a matter of when. Hopefully, we can recoup some of our losses before then. Years of dealing with Made and all we have is an unusable, unfinished master bathroom that we already paid for, plus a race to arbitration before Made is bankrupt. We've since learned and renovated successfully 2 of our remaining bathrooms by working with a contract designer (Fiverr or Upwork have lots of options) and a local contractor directly. So much better. Do yourself a favor and avoid Made at all costs....See MoreXanndra
