Thanks, Holiday-ers, I'm glad you enjoyed the view from my LR window...appreciate your gracious comments. jane...the fruit feeder has top & bottom (as seen in pic) w/hole cut out for clear glass custard cup size (so you can see when the jelly is gone!) Plus an archway between the top & bottom for spacing...rope for hanger & 2 screws from the bottom up for the orange halves. Orioles love it...also we get Catbirds who enjoy it. Squirrels do attack (sometimes)...but fruit feeder is on Shepherd's hook & they don't seem to bother it much...we tap on the windows ALOT! & send our dog out the front door often, too! LOL! Ahhh, dust bunnies are certainly multiplying around here...but it's ok...got to be out on the nice days! And I've been enjoying the bunny tureens on the forum lately, too! Thanks, everyone! Oh shoot, TXgal! I forgot - I'm writing it down so when it gets lighter outside I can look. So sorry! :-/ Thank you, Amy. Jennifer, that was the only semi-arguement we had during construction. DH wanted them, I didn't. We actually had the cans in (4 in each the GR and MBR) but even the electrician agreed they would not only ruin the look of the room, but with the roof pitch, the light would not be thrown directly to the floor (even using cans meant for sloped ceilings - the pitch was different). He removed them before the drywall was started. In both the GR and MBR we have four metal sconces that throw light up/down. We use them and two lamps in the GR at night when it's just us. If we have company and want a brighter room, there are two more lamps and the great room receives light from the DR/Foyer/Kitchen. You can see one of the sconces lit in picture #7 and two unlit in #16. I just noticed your moniker. I'm sorry you hate building - we thoroughly enjoyed the experience and I was just recently trying (just a tad) to talk DH into building again! We've been the only house on our street for two years and two new houses have just started construction. We do have 4.5acres so it's not like our old neighborhood but we were used to the seclusion.

Dim, I live in the mid south. We do get snow and ice from time to time, but it doesn't stay around all winter like it does up north. Squirrel, I wish I had posted before we rebuilt these stairs. I like the no trim at the bottom and then the short trim at the bottom, both with staggered trim at the top. That bottom tread has squares cut to fit over the post that goes down to the brick, so I suspect that he probably would have to do a small amount of trim to cover up a less than perfect cut. I don't think he used any glue other than I saw him use something from a caulking gun to attach the cap. Browynsmom, appreciate your input about the stairs. I mentioned it to my husband and he was familiar with the rules for stair treads from his college days when he drew for a architect. I just had one question for him LOL. Why did he let the builder get away with building them like that and why didn't we correct them when we rebuilt? Men!!!

I do hope you donâÂÂt think me rude for bringing up price but sometimes I think it good to show things for those of us on a tighter budget who seek to achieve a nicer look. However, so glad you like it! I have been looking at cement floors since just after purchase. It had stinky stained beige carpet that was gross ( and immediately ripped out) and a hideously remodeled moldy bathroom. On another note, now I canâÂÂt wait for the baseboards!
