Replacing existing wood burner with another wood burner

Help! We are getting ready to replace our old heat-n-glow wood burning fireplace with another wood burning high efficiency one. The very expensive fireplace store recommended Quadrafire 7100. While we think it's a good fireplace we have a couple of concerns: price ( with us doing the rip out they are still quoting almost $7000 for install, vents, etc. This does not include the mantel or surround. Second, the proverbial plasma above the fireplace. It seems the "high efficiency"could negate our being able to do this. We've read the article re: 90 degrees but are trying to think of a way to insulate better to shield the tv. Would a limestone or other stone mantel help to deflect heat? So, my two questions: other recommendations for a wood burning fireplace comparible to quadrafire 7100 and better insulation ideas to shield the tv. Thanks for your help!
