I know this is an old post, but I'm updating. I had a discussion with someone on this subject just yesterday. He was saying that they are showing up and wanted to know what to do about it. I told him that once they get big the best way is the two-brick method. Well he was completely disgusted by that. So I told him that he might try pesticide if they are small and he's against pesticides. So I told him that my method is to keep on the lookout in the Spring for the babies when they hatch out and then I do my tribal stomp dance on top of them and no more worries. He was aghast at that idea. So I said well I don't know what to tell you to do then. He said he will just pluck them off and gently toss them over the fence. (Don't adult lubbers know how to climb fences?) I love nature and critters, etc. but when they encroach on my food crops and Mother Nature doesn't use it's natural resources to dispense with them, I then become the prosecutor and the judge. The way I see it, some of the ways that Mother Nature takes out critters using other critters is far more brutal than a quick smush with my foot and then it's over.

im way late for this but if someone finds this by looking on google like i did i hope this is helpful i am 25 an weight 238 im not trying to advertize a dit pill or any thing just want to share my experiance i am on the generic form of adapex an it has help alot i was 250 i lost 6 pounds in 7 days my problem is not eating people often say oh push away from the table but thats not my reason for being over weight i just eat at the wrong times an i have no energy for excrise because lets face it if ur at my wight walking up the stairs is a chore its tireing but with adapex it has made everything so much easier it makes u have engery so u can work out its RX only diet pill if ur on medicade it does not pay for it but the generic is $30 an the adapex is $50 a month now take in mind u can lose weight with it an not exceerise but i would not recomend it for people like me cause we have to tone the fat an if you do go get on it make sure u drink alot of water i cant drink soda or tea or anything on it i crave water an i think that helps alot i feel dydrated if i dont sooo good luck to anyone that reads this I hope if you do try it u get the same results as i am!!!! =)

Serena, I got the recipe from Linda Lou at Harvest and the grandkids just loved it. I used cherry koolaid, and then I ran out of zucchini. THis year I intend to try the pineapple juice version, it's gotta be healthier a little, although it has the same amount of sugar. Zucchini Candy 10 cups peeled diced zucchini 1/2 inch cubes ( I use "worms" about 3 inches long and 1/12 inch thick and wide. The little dice would be good in muffins, though. 3 cups water 2 pkgs. unsweetened Koolaid 2 1/2 cups sugar Peel zucchini, dice or slice, removing seeds. Mix the liquid syrup together. Add zucchini. Bring to a boil and them simmer for 25 min. Drain. Put on dehydrator trays. Dry 14 hours at 125 degrees. Turn pieces over and dry another 4 hours. This will feel dry and not sticky when done. Store in jars or other tightly sealed containers.If you dip in sugar when you turn them, they will be more like "gum drops" on the outside. You can do the same thing with the zucchini but use 48 oz. pineapple juice, 2 T. pineapple extract, 2 1/2 cups sugar 1/4 cup lemon juice. Annie

I not only have GERD, I have Barrett's. I've learned to - not go to bed until about 3 hours after I've eaten - even a small snack will get the gastric acid going. I have the head of my bed elevated, and also sleep on a wedge-shaped pillow, and then two others - almost sitting up at first, then later in the night I sometimes pull out the wedge pillow. No big heavy meals - small frequent meals. No caffeine, chocolate (ok, maybe sometimes), no peppermint, no "hot" spicy foods - - ever. I drink only decaf liquids. (All that stuff interferes with the upper stomach sphincter allowing acid to reflux). Losing weight would probably help me - keep meaning to try that! I also have a gastroenterologist, have endoscopies done every 2 years, and am on a prescription med - Tums and the like don't even begin to cut it. Not fun, but neither is acid reflux at 2 a.m.!
