Thanks so much, everybody! Annie, I DO have time to post today, because the partying was done last night, when DH and I attended the bar mitzvah celebration of a cousin's twin sons. To keep this food-related: after munching on appetizers, we dined on filet mignon, Chilean sea bass, asparagus, roasted potatoes, salad, and fruit-nut bread. For dessert, there were two birthday cakes (chocolate and vanilla) plus make-your-own ice cream sundaes. It was all very wonderful and delicious. Tonight's dinner will certainly pale in comparison, but I think we need something light. My daughter's birthday gift is a cookbook, Quiches, Kugels, and Couscous: My Search for Jewish Cooking in France, by Joan Nathan. It's filled with stories and mouth-watering photos, and I can't wait to dive in. Thanks again for all your good wishes, Sue

Thanks for the birthday wishes. It's a beautiful day in San Antonio, where I'm spending the week with the grandchildren (and their parents). Went to the movies yesterday with them and saw Gnomeo and Juliet, kids loved it and it has enough references to the 50's to make it fun for us leading edge baby boomers. Today we went up to San Marcos to the nature center in Texas State Univ and took the glass bottom boat ride - the kids liked that too, then to the outlets for lunch and a bit of shopping! Perfect day.

Not sure if you mean "ex sister in law" or "ex son in law", but it's nice that cousins got to meet. I have a lot of 1st cousins once removed that I've never met, but not because of divorce, since I've never been married. Looks like a nice gift, and it's one that I would have liked also. I don't have one, and so I can't give you recipes, but I'm sure you'll be able to collect plenty here! Glad you had a good day. So far I'm optimistic about this year, even though it ends in "13". I do appreciate all the good wishes but my birthday isn't until March 6th. lol. I don't know how it got changed. It happen last year on a different forum too. I have tried to change it but I see it still has me down for ground hogs day! But I'm going to take the Birthday wishes and have fun watching the snowstorm. Thanks all! NancyLouise
