Thank you all, my dear, dear friends. Yesterday we had one of those days here at our house -- no water for 36 hours, Freya sneaking a pizza off the kitchen counter, and the smell of fresh polyurethane pervading the cold, damp house.... On the other hand, I had the loving affection of Tom and my DS Jacob, calls and cards from family, and greetings from all of you. And tonight we're going out to dinner to try celebrate again. Carla, Luanne, Jon, Anita, Lori, Ingrid, Sue, Carolina, Pamela, and Carol -- each one of your messages brought smiles and memories to my mind. I just realized that with the exception of Ingrid, I know each one of you in the Real World (as opposed to online) -- Ingrid, we'll just have to correct that soon. Thanks you all, your birthday wishes mean a lot. I've reached the age to begin counting backwards, pretty soon I'll be as old as my younger sister! I'll be doing dinner with the kids here in Baltimore this week. They do take good care of me. Went to work, today, as usual. I'm saving my vacation so I can take time off when my SIL is back from Iraq for a week at the end of March. My DD and the grandchildren will fly up from Texas that week. Spring should be here and the cherry blossoms will be in bloom. It should be a nice week.

Thanks so much. Just got home from a very long day. Started back to work after 6 weeks off to recover from my adventures in heart disease. Picked the kids up from the airport after their trip to Ireland, then out to dinner. It was a nice day.

Those flowers are beautiful. Had a great afternoon with the family - we took the kids to the Science Center and Planitarium here in Baltimore, then off to our favorite family restaurant - Paper Moon for dinner and back to my daughter's place for a really good yellow cake with chocolate ganache frosting. Spent the morning getting ready for the storm - food, gas for the generator, filling pails and tubs in case we lose power. I think sometimes the anticipation and anxiety is worse than the storm. Schools and work are already closed and it's still just raining.

Thanks. I've had a wonderful day, spent most of it at my ex-SIL's home visiting, our families haven't seen each other in a while, so this was a real pleasure - and the grandkids got to meet their 1st cousins, once removed. A good time was had by all.

I got this wonderful InstantPot from my kids. It's a six in one multicooker (?!) So now I need recipes.

Not sure if you mean "ex sister in law" or "ex son in law", but it's nice that cousins got to meet. I have a lot of 1st cousins once removed that I've never met, but not because of divorce, since I've never been married.

Looks like a nice gift, and it's one that I would have liked also. I don't have one, and so I can't give you recipes, but I'm sure you'll be able to collect plenty here! Glad you had a good day. So far I'm optimistic about this year, even though it ends in "13".
