I'm also a daily weigher. I just replaced my scale because I had to "tap" it multiple times to get it to turn on. I found another digital scale at TJMaxx that you don't have to "tap" first. It looks like the "best seller" scale linked above works the same. Before deciding to keep it I had to test it to see if it gave the same weight as my old scale. I didn't want to think that I had suddenly gained or lost a few pounds.

Now that Grover has “opened the door”, I will mention my thought when I asked about the room which you have described as your dining room. I was a bit afraid to throw this idea out there for fear of possibly being musically boorish, but ...might you consider giving the piano its own room with a pretty chandelier above and bay window, maybe adding some plants via your current dining space? — I thought maybe you could enlarge the arched opening to the living area slightly ( or not) . Then use a SMALL ( round ?) dining grouping in the space currently occupied by the yellow chair/ toward that window wall next to the fireplace. — You could possibly add the pew to “the piano room “of sorts. This would leave lots of space in the living area for your bookcase along your stair wall, and sofa and chairs in the front and fireplace area.

Art in your home is a personal choice. Your home is your private space, and it should reflect what is important to you--only you--not strangers on the internet. What makes a statement about you? What makes you interesting to other people? Build on that. IMHO, your new 'wall art' is more appropriate in a doctor's waiting room; it's too generic for a home (unless it truly reflects something about your life). It means nothing to me, hence my reaction to it. And triptychs bug me. But if you (or a friend) had taken that picture while on vacation, that puts a whole new spin on things. I would get rid of that mirror in a second. The only thing it's reflecting is a lamp cord. That is the worst place possible for a mirror. Put it some place where it reflects something worth seeing.

Agree with Pokchop_Z5b_MI and others that Demeyere is best. Demeyere does have a 1.1 quart (1L) in Atlantis and a 1.5 or 1.6 quart in the 5-ply line (Industry Industry Plus, or similar names with relatively minor differences). I chose mostly the 5-ply due to the weight, but the 7 ply Proline in frying pans, buying them a little at a time as Zwilling featured them on a kind of loss-leading sale, which I don’t think they do much of any more. I started out with 4 pieces (the small 1 .5 quart pot, a frying pan, a small 3 or 4 quart pan with 2 handles, and a larger pot with an insert for pasta) and added a little more with sales. If you are able, go to a Henckel’s factory outlet store. I went to one in Mamaroneck, NH while visiting relatives. If I recall correctly, everything was routinely half off list price — still pricey, but way more affordable. If you can, call the Pleasantville, NY Headquarters (914 385-3487). There is an annual Zwilling J. A. Henckels warehouse sale for 2 weekends in late November, early December around Thanksgiving and before Christmas, at that Westchester location, where the prices are even better, up to 80% off they say. It is in a huge tent. We went about 2 years ago, and found from Demeyere the large 12 (12 1/2?)” frypan, and a 2 1/2 quart (approximately) pot, but also got 3 Santoku Henckel’s knives (6 or 7”) for ourselves and 2 gifts for friends (one told me recently she uses it almost every day) and a serrated knife. There was another pot I couldn’t find there, but the retail store is right there, and I was able to get that — albeit at a higher cost. I was able to see, compare and handle it, which made a difference over looking online or waiting maybe for a sale. I went during the second weekend; I would suggest going to the earliest date you can because they’re limited to onhand stock. I believe their Warehouse sale also occurs in a (very) few other locations in the country. The actual dates are set as they get closer.
