It made me soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo HAPPY !!!! It brought back SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many memories to me.......... When I was born in Odessa Texas... My Dad started singing ..... the YELLOW ROSE OF TEXAS... to me.... and sang it to me everytime he saw me... till he died when I was 8 years old.... THANK YOU CAIT !!!!!!!!!!!! I really needed that today... I am sooooooooooooooooooo DANG Homesick I can barely stand it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! & watching the St Leonard Look out towerwalk with the Beautiful Green trails and Mts.... W O N D E R F UL !!!!!!!!!!! cause ALL I have Seen since DECEMBER 1st 2008 is W H I T E SNOW !!!!!!!! Tons of it... Feet of it... and that's all I will see for several more months... so I BOOKMARKED the Tower Walk... and I hope to watch it quite often !!!! It was EXTREMELY Kind of you to think of me... I do my winter sowing like Mary does, assembly line style, wetting a large amount of mix in a large plastic tub, mixing with my garden fork, filling 9 jugs at a time. I cover my washer & dryer with old towels and line up the nine jugs on the dryer, lay out the seeds and labels and recording notebook on the washer, put one jug on a wire shelf that is placed over the double laundry tubs, sow the seeds, label, spray with water, cover top (I use the window method with a plastic bag rather than taping the top closed), put jug in an old dishpan of water to make sure mix is well watered, let drain on wire shelf over laundry tubs. When eight jugs are well drained I put four at a time in my laundry basket and take them outside. While some jugs are draining others are soaking in the pans. Doesn't take long to get in a rhythm and soon 30+ jugs are done, even more if I'm doing 2Ls. Before starting to sow I have already filled in the names of the seeds in my record book and pulled the seeds from the large files and put them in a small box. Any left over seed is put at the back of the box. When I sow I just need to put the date and number of seeds sown in the record book. Also have marked the labels with the seed names so they are ready to pop into the containers.

yes, we went, my husband and i, and were sorely disappointed. it was more like a home show with a bit of landscaping, no real flower/garden displays as in former years. we both loathed this new format and hope it won't be continued. didn't stay long. and the paucity of vendors was a bummer as well. we so wished we hadn't missed the previous week's Rhode Island flower show in Providence, which we usually go to as well. that's a very nice show... did manage to buy a couple of nice garden ornaments, and checked out the pergola shade canopies, so perhaps not a total loss, but if this is how it will be in future, they can count us out from attending!! wish i knew where to send a pleasantly-worded complaint.
