I have about 55" Phillips smart tv. Model 55PFL3907/F7 SN: VM1A1213110389. I had a power outage and the tv and direct tv modem were working when the power went out. Not so much when it came back on. The TV has a pink/violet picture stuck on it which has yellow writing. Doesn't seem to be a Phillips logo just some random picture. Plus the Direct tv modem isn't working properly either. The Direct tv company is coming to check it out but I'm looking for some input in case it turns out that the problem is with the tv. Thanks for any help you can give.

I think I've figured out the problem ! I hope this reaches you all. I noticed that when I got the TV (in the winter season), I never had this problem. The TV was working great. But as the temperature got warmer and warmer and the humidity got higher and higher, that's when the problems began. When I put the "temperature theory" to the test, although I thought it was a long shot at the time, I had great success. I thought, "what if I just tried to keep the TV temperature down ?" So I put a small desk fan up against the left side of the TV, aimed it toward the inside (through the vent) and put it on full blast. After about five minutes or so, I turned the TV on and it STAYED ON ! (The left side of the TV is where the over-heating power regulator is located). As I did this on a regular basis, I had nothing but success. Few things: #1 - Turning the fan on five minutes ahead of time turned out to be irelevant. Nowadays, I just turn the fan on 'high' just before I turn the TV on. #2 - I have no air condintioning in my living room, so even though I have this fan, the TV will still shut off occasionally on really really hot days. I did, however, purchase one of those window fans and installed it in the closest window to the TV. This helps. Less light is getting in, and it's a bit cooler by the TV. #3 - The desk fan that I have is very small, but quite powerful for it's size. It's white and made out of tough plastic. It's about 8 1/2 inches across and 10 1/2 inches high. It's made by a company called HOLMES. I hope this reaches you all, and I hope you have the same luck that I did. We all probably spent a lot of money on this TV, and because Philips is being a douche-bag about it, we have to make due with what we have. Let me know if you have any questions. Good luck.

The philips 32pt6441/37 has the power off problem. With information from this site first the resistor on the crt circuit board was replaced with no change. Then I ordered the Horizontal Driver Transistor Repair Kit from Tritronics. When I received their shipment, the transistor was missing from the kit. The kit consists of a transformer, several resistor and in a static-resistant bag showing philips part number 934054713215, identified in the included installation note as the SMD Field Effect Transistor. But instead of the transistor, only a small piece of spring like metal with an even smaller piece of plastic attached to it is found. I called Tritronics and was told that the missing part would be shipped right away. After waiting for a week I received another complete Kit, but the transistor was not there just the same thing as before. I found on the web PartStore.com who carries the same kit, and for a lower price and also lower shipping charge. I placed the order and wanted to explain to them the problem with this particular kit, but there was not an area for comments or a way to add a message. So then I called them on the phone an explained that I just placed an order for the kit and my concerns with the missing transistor, the person person said that there would be no problem with the kit. I received the shipment today and as you guessed it; the transistor is not present. Immediately called PartStore and was told that other than authorizing the return of the shipment there was nothing they could do. I find this hard to believe being that they most likely buy a quantity of parts from philips and should be able to get the missing part. I guess this is the kind of service that is available now. Needless to say, at this time I am extremely dissapointed, an unable to repair my daughter's tv set which has been down for over a month now. Does anyone knows the transistor part number? Not the useless philips number, (the PartStore person stated that they did not know it) or a substitute that would work ok on this set? Any assistance in the solution of this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

I just wanted to report the I was able to successfully fix my 32" Smart Series TV (Model# TS3258C101 - 32D700 7570) with the burnt disk capacitor problem. I got the part from DigiKey online and replaced the fried cap. The TV works great! Thanks to all who contributed to this thread. It saved us from upgrading the TV to the HD type. It would also been necessary for us to upgrade our DirecTv box. A replacement TV would have been very expensive. I was VERY glad to fix the TV since it was an extra TV for the bedroom. Cheers!
