Home Cookin Chapter: Recipes From Thibeault's Table Lemon - Glazed Lemon Loaf with Rum ================================== Note: This cake is also nice with the addition of poppyseeds. Make sure the poppyseeds are not stale. 4 cups all purpose flour 1 teaspoon salt 2/3 cups melted butter 1 1/2 cups milk Grated zest of a lemon 3 tablespoons baking powder 1 3/4 cups cup sugar 4 eggs, lightly beaten 1/2 cup rum 1 tablespoon real vanilla Lemon Glaze 4 tablespoons icing sugar (powdered) 2 tablespoons rum 2 tablespoons lemon juice . Preheat oven to 350Â°F. LIght grease 3 or 4 loaf pans (depending on size) Into large mixing bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. In separate bowl, blend butter, eggs, milk, rum, lemon zest and vanilla. Add the liquid ingredients all at once into dry ingredients. Blend just until moistened. Turn into prepared pans and tap pan to smooth out mixture. Bake 60 to 65 minutes, or until toothpick inserted into centre comes out clean. Let cool slightly in pan, and then remove and place on a wire rack to cool. Poke top in several places with a toothpick and brush with lemon glaze while still warm. Glaze, Blend ingredients until sugar is dissolved.

Ooooh Quince, I use to think that using a pre-existing design for a mosaic piece wasn't... fair? Lot's of people 'borrow' images, patterns, and color schemes even - I think the art is what you DO with them. You did splendidly IMO, and how you did it is original - your color choice, materials, placement, shapes, detail, etc. LOL - I think I'm trying to justify something! (See my thread - Newbie challenge - on a table I'm doing and the original design is a photograph of a plant I found on the internet.) But seriously, I'm new to mosaics and not too confident in my creative abilities just yet. Using a pre-existing pattern helps this newbie get started! Kudos, Anne

Nice to hear of a satisfied customer. I remember when my SIL got married, they had the reception it at a lovely place but toward the end of the evening they gave my FIL (her Dad) a big bill for "extras". Never discussed when they first signed up with the place. Quite embarassing for all. But that was in Albany NY and I don't live there, probably never will.

Congrats and thank you! Your blog is one of my regular sources of inspiration as well. Just this past weekend I was at a loss for what to make for my mother's birthday and I scrolled through your recipes and stumbled upon cornish hens with wild rice and mushroom stuffing. I didn't follow it exactly but it was a springboard for a great meal.

Ann's pictures rival the best of the fancy food magazines. Her food styling and plating is drool worthy, certainly among the best even competing with the Top Chefs and other pros.
Half a million??? Just a small drop in the bucket!! Wait and see what the next year brings!!
Congratulations to one of our own who has proven her popularity also spreads beyond this small forum!!

Oh.....and she posts the recipes for her beautiful meals!! Are we lucky or what???!!

I had no idea what to expect when I started my blog - Thibeault's Table three years ago. I certainly didn't expect to have this many visitors and followers.

I know that over the years we have had a number of exceptional cook/photographers begin to blog. I am not a blog follower in general so I can't name them all without help. Sol, Lori, Mirasol...I know there are others. Unfortunately I think most of them have subsequently drifted away from the cooking forum. Perhaps because they began to accept advertising and that conflicts with GW (Ann does not accept advertising). Or possibly because blogging is time intensive. I really don't know. Their contributions here are missed. Our loss, for sure.

I appreciate that Ann continues to be an active participant here. Thanks Ann.

Awesome! Just like your site.
Beautiful food and photography (and cutting boards). I do have one negative.............you make it awfully hard to sit here at work and see all of that and keep concentrating on what I'm SUPPOSED to be doing!! :-)
