I'm not an expert so probably can't help but... I think you have enough speed you shouldn't even need to let it buffer, but know how to do so, so it's probably not Internet speed. Your system seems fine specification-wise. To me anyway. I don't think or know much about video cards but I wouldn't think it would be the physical card, but I don't really know. My wild guess would be the driver. :) This is what mine shows when I go to "System settings"--->"Additional Drivers": If it were me, I'd try a different driver if there's any listed there. Maybe you already have? Other than that, I don't have a clue. I'm running 12.04 and youtube's and other videos play fine for me. If someone else here doesn't have the answer, there's always the Ubuntu forum. Just a thought. i have a 1999 philips magnavox big screen model #9p6034 c102 was watching tv and then it made a static sound and then no noise, i have tryed to turn off & on tv and put volunm up & down but nothing. the picture is working fine, just cant hear anything. please help!!!! it's driving me nut's not hearing anything thanks and the chassis model number is ptv835

Ooops! Something I thought of at 3:00 am this morning while tossing and turning - and thinking about everything else! - was that Comcast may be utilizing CGMS-A (Copy Generation Management System - Analog). These are bits set in a digital code that exists on line 20 of the analog video within the VBI (vertical blanking interval). The two bits are within a 7 bit word that indicate: 00 freely copy, 01 copy no more (bits that are rolled when you make your first authorized copy), 10 copy once (as authorized that then roll to 01), and 11 copy never. DVD recorders are designed to read these bits and act accordingly. Either way, if it's ACP or CGMS-A, the DVD recorder will usually display a "copying not permitted" type of message.

Philips 27 inch TP2785 C221, chassis 27K800 7591. Has been a great TV, wonderful picture, about a year ago S video went out, so I switched to RCA plugs, to play VCR and DVD, good but not great, not a problem, now with no seeming external influence the sound has gotten weaker over the last few months, i.e. having to turn volume level a bit higher to be able clearly hear. OK on Sunday, then Monday evening, when attempting to increase the volume, I noticed that it was even weaker than before and as I got the volume level to 31, bang it goes out, as though the amp is saturated. I can't find a manual or a schematic anywhere, I can replace components, but need to know where to start, any help would be appreciated.
