sjarz, for the doll head only, which is what I want to make, the directions say: arrange and glue doll hair on head. In this same craft book, you can also make the entire Raggedy Ann doll. It also calls for knit doll hair loops, but it says: arrange hair loops on head and "stitch" in place". I really have no idea what they are talking about when they say knit doll hair loops. What I think of are the loops we used to make potholders with years ago. Kind of looks like those in the pictures. It says nothing in the directions about wrapping the wool around a ruler and then sliding them off, or anything else. Only what I have listed above.

Hi B. Dolls of a given height are rearely the same body shape. An 18 inch doll can be baby, toddler, child, teen or adult (lady) Each of these body shapes vary dramatically. I suggest that you buy the doll you thing your grandaughter would like and draft directly from the doll. Basic patterns can easily be tizzed with a bit of lace and gathering. My owner messed up my hair billions of times I always just steal conditioner from my master's master's shower and rinse with warm water and then use the curling Iron from my master's master's dresser. she always comes home and sees me all new again then asks her master 'Did you do this?' then her master says to my Master 'yes honey I did' taking my credit! GRR! oh well. I don't blame my master though she got me out of that dreaded box some one put me in besides shes 5 I hear around the neighborhood that humans don't expect much from 5 year olds. My sis in law uses invisible thread. She just finds a starting point & starts sewing it on. I have never tried it myself. I start at the bottom of the head & work from one side to the other using my glue gun. Move up an inch or so & start gluing again. I do pretty well until it comes to framing the face or making bangs. Then it takes me FOREVER to get it to look like I want it to. Hope this helps.
