I'm so glad you asked that Mitch -- I'm wondering too, and didn't want to Google it... But I suspect that's about it -- see-thru clothes on top of nude-colored undergarments of some type or other... I've seen a lot of lace or super-sheer stuff on Hollywood types lately.

I must be getting old, because I really don't see much taste difference between 'just looking nude' and actually being nude -- Both tacky IMO.

Of course maybe that's not it? I've seen some lovely evening gowns in colors described as 'nude' -- ivory to gold to peach to pink... Some of those have been just lovely.

Are you talking about things like the nude bodysuit I saw Jennifer Lopez wear at some event?

When I read your post the first thing that came to mind was that dress Marilyn Monroe wore in Some Like it Hot. I saw a scene of that movie the other night when she was on the boat with Tony Randall and they showed a side shot. Wow, it was definitely see through. See link.

I also think nude and pretending to be nude are the same, not attractive.

Some quick searches show sheers are among some of the trends for 2012. I also kept seeing repeated phrases; florals, color blocks, pastels, peplum, maxi dresses, and the all-encompassing 'retro' description. Suits with shorts for pants, tuxedo look for women. And somewhere I saw culottes, which imvho aren't very flattering on any body style. Maybe it's me, but the trends seem to be all over the place.

Some of that looks like beach wear to me.

Just my opinion but I think it's ridiculous. No better than the kids (and some men) you see wearing their jeans hanging below their butts and walking like penguins because of it.

ugh... i can't imagine anyone but the young (and fit!) wearing this style. very trendy and short lived i would think. the 1st suit shown above is just hideous...

Yes, those are pretty but they aren't a see for all either, I guess that's what I have a problem with. Why do designers have to do that? Those dresses are more commercial, I can see a variety of people/ages wearing some of them where that runway stuff isn't. Unless of course it's on the beach. Then sure, it would be very appropriate. I must be getting old. I feel like I'm saying something my Mother would be saying. LOL
