Where to Find Garlic Juice or How to Make it.

I saw a show on the Food Channel where they visited a BBQ joint that made a BBQ beef and used garlic juice for seasoning. I have been looking for it and haven't found garlic juice in any of the stores. Does anyone have a clue where I might find it, or, does anyone know how to make Garlic Juice?

Thanks for any suggestions.

twinkledome, I'm no expert, but maybe you should just try a garlic press and see if you are really going to like the recipe with garlic juice.
I really can't imagine how it would differ from just using minced garlic that you get in a grocery store in those small to large jars. Actually you could dip out the juice or strain/squeeze the whole jar for the juice if you're sure that is what you want.

I suggest using a microplane or a garlic press..the microplane will give you "smaller" bits of garlic..that will cook down to nothing.
I think I watched the same episode..and I was thinking "I've never seen garlic juice". LOL

Squeezo is a very old name for the newer model Villaware or Roma food strainer. These use a very good design that incorpoates a spiral auger that pushes the juices through a fine holed screens and removes all traces of seeds and skins. No prepping needed, unless the tomatoes are really big, where you simply cut them in quarters. Its similar to a meat grinder, but its for most any food that has skins and/or seeds. I use it for red raspberry jam without seeds. The use of a finer hold berry screen is what gives me just the juices and soft pulp, and any seeds are pushed out the end of the conical sieves. They also make a shorter spiral for large grape seeds and a pumpkin screen or even a 3/16 inch hole salsa screen. These are extra attachments. If you were dong a LOT of tomatoes or othr things, also suggest the motor unit. I have one here and 'crank' out a bushel in about 10 minutes. The newer ones have a twist on strainer screen, while teholder models have two big wingnuts on each side of the screens. Thanks, Evenshade...I make that stuff...but I call it "imperial dressing" and I make it with Hellman's mayo and a little less pepper....and sometimes I add blue cheese...makes it a "whole nother thing". This was white....and a house speciality from a local 3 location "chain"...so I expect I will have no choice but to go back and try it again....and see what I can taste. Linda C

I just have a question about Vitamix, since you brought up blenders. Do people really put whole fruit like oranges or grapefruit, etc in juicer/blenders like they show on QVC when they do the Vitamix sellathons? If so what about the white pithy stuff and the seeds? Also they sometimes put in whole peppers and the like. Are the seeds in these fruits and vegys just ground up beyond recognition and so you don't notice them? Does the white pithy part under the peel of citrus fruit give the resulting slurry a bitter taste? Just wondering.

Meatloaf can bring out the best and the worst in people. Some throw temper tantrums and stomp their feet if you don't bury it in 2" of the condiment their life centers around! (Ask me how I know -HA!). Fortunately most are rational and can reminisce without screaming and shouting. :) Normally I like a mixture of meats. Ground beef, pork sausage and pepperoni are popular here. Binders can vary. I happen to like onion, pepper and celery in it at times too but it depends on the type of meatloaf I'm making. Occasionally I make sort of a "pizza meatloaf" with a pizza sauce and pizza geared flavorings, even some mozzarella in it. I make meatloaf a number of different ways. It doesn't "have" to be one way for me to enjoy it. Normally I prefer bread (whole grain or multi-grain works great) cracker crumbs or something rather than the dried breadcrumbs. I like a crust on meatloaf. Finally there's getting to be more people admitting they like it and gear a recipe toward it. I find that interesting. I use eggs in there usually. But that doesn't always glue it together, I've had crumbly loaves and meatballs with more and less egg. I've found that how much it's packed makes a difference too. Sometimes I like it more dense, sometimes I like it more crumbly. I've never had great success with the bacon wrapped meatloaves but might give it another try sometime. Especially if I put it on the grill but then someone will throw a tantrum if it's not boiled in catchip, I suppose! :D I like different types of seasonings again depending on mood. Sometimes Spikes, Jane's, my own rib rub or a variation or whatever is around. I don't get into the packaged seasonings. I like less sodium and MSG. Usually a dash of hot sauce goes in there. Sometimes some bacon, sometimes some parmesan... Like I said, I'm not locked into one type of meatloaf. Here is a link that might be useful: Not everyone is ashamed. We sell it in our cooking store. It is just the juice of the squeezed garlic, no bits. Check cooking or gourmet stores. They should carry it. It is in the Italian section in our store. (8 oz bottle) NancyLouise

Thank you all for your helpful suggestions. I see that the garlic juice that is sold comes in cases, so that is out. I love garlic, but!

NancyLouise: I am in So. Calif. I don't suppose your store would be, would it? I will call the Italian Deli and see if they carry the juice.

Otherwise, I guess I will be experimenting with presses, microplanes and chopped garlic in jars. Surely, something should work.

You'll be better off substituting fresh garlic that you put through a garlic press or grate on a Microplane. Bottled garlic juice has an off flavor to it - almost like a metal or can flavor. Don't waste your time trying to find it.

I'm with Lars, my experience was the same. I never finished the bottle and finally threw it down the drain. Actually, I used it outside for bug maintenance.

I don't have any tools to squeeze the garlic juice out can I use a blender??
